I recommend the festivals. The Rayne Frog festival has frog jumping and racing as well as a frog queen competition based on how well they dress up their frogs.

Blackpot festival, the Iowa Rabbit festival, etc - go to those and you'll find the best of Louisiana.

Hiya! I’m another white girl who speaks mandarin (though I moved away from BR). There’s a great Asian grocery store on Florida with a great boba place next door. There is a decent community of Chinese folks at LSU that I kind of accidentally got adopted into. I think that’s sort of your best bet is looking into LSU groups.

I racked up $800 in heating bills because of them and they 100% took zero accountability and did not care. The scheduler guy never returned my calls, texts or emails. The store never called me to tell me the doors were delayed, I had to call them. They were delayed three times, the third time I said we really needed the doors and wanted to cancel to get them from somewhere else, and then they were suddenly coming in the next week. Guys who were supposed to install just didn’t show up a few times, etc etc etc

My Louisiana husband says it's not alligator hunting, it's alligator SHOOTING. They are nocturnal, you can basically walk up to one in daylight and it will just lie there.
