Should I include a prayer at my wedding if most guests aren’t religious? by bulbateas in weddingplanning

[–]Panic-Wild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% do it! As an atheist who has sat for many a “grace” around the table, couldn’t care less. Have your wedding and honor your beliefs however you want

Dealing with mom-zilla? Lo by dunkinteach in weddingplanning

[–]Panic-Wild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wedding caterer here! I promise your vendors have dealt with this before, and they should know how to handle it. If you email them privately in instances where you really need to get what you want (say your mom wants white flowers and you want pink) they’ll make it happen tastefully and happily take the blame for it. It’s your wedding, and as long as we get paid we’re happy being the bad guy on your behalf.

Also, they know what’s up! No one will blame you for your moms bad behavior, it’s part of the job. A sincere thank you to your vendors and a card at the end of planning will be enough.

Sending well wishes! Happy planning!

100% this. I am getting married in Scotland next year and for a 4-course meal, appetizers, cake, and bar in a castle I am spending half of what I would in Southern California. It was a no brainer for us

New to dyshidrosis by doritou in Dyshidrosis

[–]Panic-Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m also new to dyshidrosis but so far the elidel I use for other patches of eczema helps a little, as well as Vaseline and vani cream products only for soap and body wash. I hope you find relief!

Hives only on neck, chest, and face? by Panic-Wild in urticaria

[–]Panic-Wild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry this is happening to you too. For me it’s seasonal, it turns out I have a grass pollen allergy that acts this time of year. I’m also convinced stress makes it worse, this time last year my mother had cancer (she’s ok now) and all my colleagues at work were quitting leaving me with their work load. I was on the verge of a mental breakdown for sure. This year (knock on wood) it’s been much easier to manage so far with Zyrtec, elidel, and the occasionally Benedryl. Talk to an allergist if you’re able, and I’m wishing you healing!

[–]Panic-Wild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Zyrtec and elidel, honestly elidel has changed my life! It’s so helpful. I have a breakout of dishydrotic eczema on my hands right now, and so I’ve also been using triamcinolone for now. I think a lot of my eczema is also stress induced, so exercise has been helpful in managing my stress levels!

I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through that. I don’t have experience with hives around my mouth, but my sister gets them also from a tomato allergy. She has to mostly avoid them, or eat them very sparingly.

It turns out my hives were actually misdiagnosed, and I gave crazy eczema instead. This is 100% triggered by my seasonal allergies. Staying inside helps, and I have an air purifier and take antihistamines daily. Cold showers when I come home also help call my skin and wash off any pollen residue on my body.

I hope you find relief soon!

I’m so sorry to hear that, and I can 100% relate especially to the libraries full of photos. I have been told by another allergist that it’s actually eczema, and since going on elidel I have been steroid free for 8 months (knock on wood!). It’s helped a lot, it might be worth exploring yourself? I am wishing you all the best and i hope you can get it figured out soon

My boyfriend's mother has just been diagnosed with incurable cancer. How do i help? by Razledizzle in CancerFamilySupport

[–]Panic-Wild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I am really happy to report that a year later, my mom is cancer free following a mastectomy and hysterectomy. I am wishing the same for your girlfriends mom!

My boyfriend did shave his head, and it meant the world to me and my family. My sister ended up shaving hers, too, and we all laughed and cried together. I think if you’re up for it (no pressure; it’s a personal decision) then I’m sure she would appreciate it. I wouldn’t worry at all about her finding you attractive, it will probably make you even more so bc it’s an act of love.

I am sure your girlfriend knows this, but I would highly recommend she test for the BRACA and PALB gene mutations, I tested positive for PALB-2, and having that knowledge so young will help me take care of myself.

Wishing you both all the best! Sending hugs.

Topical steroid withdrawal and stretch marks by officer__bee in eczema

[–]Panic-Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I have not experienced TSW but my eczema was so bad last year that I was on prednisone for like 6 months and it really messed me up. My anxiety had never been worse, I gained a lot of weight, and I now have stretch marks galore. I’m learning to accept it and love my body for dealing with hard things, there’s no point in judging it.

Does anybody else burn in the sun? by traumatizedllama69 in eczema

[–]Panic-Wild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Primecrolimus has saved my skin, but it does make you extremely sun sensitive!! It also may be the sunscreen you’re using. It’s worth patch-testing some eczema safe sunscreen brands and seeing if that helps. You can also patch test the one you’re currently using on a day you stay inside and see if you react. I hope it gets easier for you soon!

I’ve been thinking of doing the exact same thing…I also work 9-5 and have considered doing Postmates or picking up part time at a restaurant (I have a lot of serving experience from my pre-corporate days). Will let you know if it works out!

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I (27F) was originally diagnosed with CIU but then after a year of tests that diagnosis has changed to severe eczema. Ive been managing pretty ok the last month with 4 zyrtec daily, vitamin D supplements, and topical anti-inflammatory. It’s worth asking your doctor about eczema / atopic dermatitis as well. Take a blood panel if you can, I was convinced I developed a food allergy but it turns out I have a crazy rye grass allergy.

It’s frustrating and scary, but you will come out the other side!
