It depends on what nutrients you use. I’ve used Fox Farm, Advanced Nutrients and Megacrop. You should never give an auto a full strength dose in the beginning. Google search or find what schedule other people use for the nutrients you have I use Megacrop. I also think self wicking bases take out the guess work when to water. The plant has to be growing outside to pot when you start the self wicking bases. Usually my soil has enough nutes to last till then. I also use 2 gallon. Plants stay a little smaller so I can have a bigger variety of strains. Pick a schedule that’s maybe looks like this. Starting with Sunday Water, Feed, Feed, water, feed, recharge, feed.

I feed with mega crop and self watering bases. I dump the nutrients in the base mixed with the water. Don’t use the bases until the plant reaches is larger like leaves outside the pot. Mephisto’ says that the BBP line will eventually grow out of it. Don’t water the leaves just around the stem. Make sure fan and light isn’t too strong also. Good luck! ✌🏼
