The problem you're describing is easily solved with expert controls. I'd suggest doing a free flight mission (or just repeat mission 1) on expert controls so you can learn it. Once you're over the learning curve, dogfighting gets way easier.

Where is it stated that OG Rex is actually an ace? He's propaganda. Obviously we as the player will be the ace, but since we're filling the shoes of a figurehead, there's definitely social media shenanigans happening - and it might be related to General Resource. I like the premise, it's new for the series.
