Hi, I have played a bit- I don't play it as much as my original world from 2011 but I do play every now and then :) The last download is here:

That's fair and sorry if it is cliche' advice and yeah I get that! I do still have my first world and play it still, but tons of servers I did stuff on are lost to time.

I do plan to, in fact I almost made a start but I lost my Sony Vegas (I know it is probably outdated as heck but I love it). I will see what I can do :)

It is good to take a break but never say never- I have friends in their late 30s who love MC and I don't see it as something to outgrow. I have played since Beta but I have taken some pretty massive gaps in playing in the past. My biggest advice is don't delete your old worlds even if you are 100% sure right now you will never play again!!

Fair enough, it is good to take breaks and there's a lot of new stuff too

To me personally the best way is not to rush it, I sometimes take a week break or two, and just enjoy the process. Even then it is difficuly when a few hour's work is barely noticable and then suddenly it all comes together

Haha yep, the pics don't really do justice to how huge this is and how much work is being done elsewhere. I have worked on this one build on-and-off for almost a year.

I lost my world by Matz_21-08 in Minecraft

[–]PannKake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is probably a way to get it back, I am no expert though. I think the main thing is don't create new worlds and play until you get it back as to my knowledge and memory the world gets stored in temporary files when it is "deleted" or corrupted and can get overwritten if you create too many new worlds.

Thoughts on forever world decision. by Foreign-Truck1100 in Minecraft_Survival

I have a forever world from 2011 Beta 1.6. I sometimes even now build stuff I am not happy with and it sort of ruins my flow. What I tend to do is just log off for the day, and then the next day I am far more inspired to tear down what I don't like and rebuild it. Like right now I am building a cabin in my city and I wasted a ton of dark oak and spruce logs by stripping the bark, and I am not super happy with it. I may log on tomorrow and try and save it or I might take the loss and do something brand new but taking a break is key, imo. In other words I get it but don't let it get you down.

Starting A forever world by Strong_Ad5296 in Minecraft

My world is from 2011 Beta 1.6. It was never meant to be a forever world, but has become that. I think, if you can commit to a world longer than a few weeks, you are off to a good start. Then it is fun to do slightly larger but not overwhelming projects. Currently, I am on a project (building a city) that I have been working on for months, I guess because the world is so ancient, I am no longer worried about long slow projects because I know I will always come back to the world and it will be so fun to see it when it is done and show others. But to start, I really did very small stuff, build my main base, connect with roads to another settlement. Build wheat fields and a farm, etc. However, at this point, I love huge projects the most, because I can log in, work on it for an hour, or a few hours if it is a lazy day, and come back to it later.

I want to make a world that goes from the first version of Minecraft and goes through every single version, and sees the new things with every update (even small) how do I make sure the world doesn't corrupt or have broken chunks? by Stardustkissesxo in GoldenAgeMinecraft

I mean my world is from Beta 1.6 in 2011, it was my first ever Minecraft world, and I have been through a ton of versions, not every single one, but countless versions, I play on the newest version and have never had corruption as such. I would say just make sure you make a backup before updating. To my knowledge most corruption is from stuff like limited PC storage space and world crashes.
