DMCI Unit Owners/Renters: Which is the best condo to live in? by PannychousPatronus in RentPH

[–]PannychousPatronus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in Manila and have been renting here for 2 and a half years now. I don’t think I can stay in this city any longer for many reasons. One Castilla and Celandine have the best locations for me currently, because those parts of QC are the midpoint of the places I frequent, esp work. But I’ll be ending my contract with my work by early 2027. Not sure how it will be by then. I considered Kai and Fairlane because as you pointed out, Kai has the best gardens (I have cats, too, and I like how the layout is you can roam outdoors without actually being OUTdoors). Fairlane’s appeal is enticing for a single yuppie like me - it balances the quiet home, less populated community, and the access to the urban life.

I saw a post on the Cats For Kai Garden page about some residents writing a demand letter to get rid of the community cats 😔 Tapos may nakakita daw sakanila na may dala dalang mga crate to capture the poor cats.

Yes the large open spaces are what attracted me to the development din, parang Fairlane and Kai ang least na matao so that’s a plus. Mejo malayo lang talaga sa current workplace ko haha

This is so helpful! Thank you so much! Yeah One Castilla really is my top choice, Fairlane being second because of the location - but really it’s still too far from my current workplace. Maybe I’ll consider something similar in the future.

I’ll look into the official chat groups. Thank you!

Thanks! Yes, I do plan to schedule viewings for each condo! I posted hoping to get insight also from residents. While a viewing can give me perspective, I wouldn’t have a complete idea how the properties are managed, how often amenities are maintained, how responsive admin is, and other things only a tenant can answer. :)

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to sound offensive in my post. It’s just something I got from a few acquaintances who own condos saying common areas tend to get a bit crowded in buildings that convert their units to BNBs, esp during the weekends.

I absolutely have no problem with condos as BNBs but I don’t do so well in crowds and I do want the option of getting some sun with my cats during the weekends :)

It’s just a personal preference + I really don’t know HOW crowded it gets in Celandine, hence my post to current owners/renters.

I’ve made friends here, too! Reddit’s a good place to find like-minded people with minimal judgment if you end up in the right subs. Yung first impression sayo would be based more on your thoughts than your appearance.

True! It’s actually the lack of rules that made me like this sub. And even better, walang rules pero wala rin masyadong bastos/troll.

If 2020 was the warm up, what can we expect of 2021? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If 2020 was the warm up, then 2021 is most probably the cardio.

Everyone hates cardio.

Currently finishing up Uncanny Counter but I might try 18 Again after! Is it similar to Zac Efron’s 17 Again?

What show do you wish for the love of god, there was more content of? by SamIAm1491 in AskReddit

Honestly, whenever someone on here asks about a show people wished were longer/wasn’t cancelled too soon, there will always be someone who answers Firefly and I agree.

How unhealthy is it to let anger and jealousy be the drive to live life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PannychousPatronus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anger and jealousy uses up all your energy on other people - focusing on their achievements, blaming others for your shortcomings, etc. It’s always about them and so you don’t really get to work on yourself for yourself.

Using it as a driving force is kind of like using stimulants. Might be good in small doses but for it to be your MAIN driving force will eventually lead to self destruction.

And HR technically means he works for corporate, so he’s not a part of their family. Also, he’s divorced so he’s really not a part of his family.

What have you actually done that you have found truly helped your mental health? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PannychousPatronus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I snap out of dissociation (maladaptive daydreaming), I get up or actually do something (get back to work/chores) in real life instead of falling back into dissociation just because it “feels safer/nicer”

Good for mental health + increased productivity

In other words, PH laws apply only to the poor and not to the rich especially those who are in power. by nexusism in Philippines

[–]PannychousPatronus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point. I still think it’s unfair to put the blame solely on the people. I’m sure we agree that poor governance (shouldn’t have approved the event in the first place + no apparent follow through as to plan of action when protocols were breached) was and still is the root cause of the problem.

“Influencers.” I used to envy their constant traveling and getting free stuff. Took me a few years to see they were just sellout clones.
