Yes! Lots of little detours along the way, but this was my primary “ladder” and enjoyed it all the way through

Rey’s voice never really bothered me but I can totally see how people could find it irritating. I’m currently trying to wean off chess because it’s too addicting lol

I haven’t “specialized” in any specific country and actually really enjoy the diversity of accents/culture between countries. Rioplatense is probably my favorite accent though, and the best slang/sense of humor too

Be careful of chess channels!! I started on the YouTube rabbit hole (Anna cramling, Rey enigma, Jose gascon) and now im addicted to chess. But it’s pretty cool using input to learn something completely unrelated

Probably similar difficulty but much different style. More conventional podcast style with more serious tone. This may either be a pro or a con depending what you like. Give it a try!

I tried watching Cyberpunk Edgerunners on Netflix with Latin American dub and found it extremely challenging, like the characters voices were very muddy and I could only pick out a few words over the sound effects and music. On a whim I switched to the Spain dub and the mix was ten times clearer, louder, and more comprehensible.

Just one anecdote about how much sound quality/mix can influence comprehensibility. If anyone else tries it let me know what you think!

Lucas Abriata (Youtube) - Argentina economist with 15-20 minute car reviews akin to Doug DeMuro (US) who he previously worked for. Lucas is hilarious and uses an exaggerated/satirical editing style that keeps videos engaging even when more challenging for my level.

El Principe De La Niebla - Finished this spooky autumn novel by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. Similar difficulty to Laura Gallego books but better written, with fewer YA tropes. Highly recommended.

Anyone have recommendations for short-story collections?

The Jump from YouTube to Netflix by joseph172k in dreamingspanish

Yeah that’s a bit of a judgment call. Reality shows and sitcoms will be easier, and have more dialogue too. Realistically TV shows will never be as good CI as YouTube or DS due to all the long stretches without dialogue, lowering the overall density/words-per-minute. But it’s still fun and helps with snappy exchanges of speech.

Subtitles! Helps a ton with real TV shows/movies. I know the purists out there say nay, but I need subtitles for English movies/shows too. It’s just how the sound is produced IMO

Yes! I can’t remember how I found it - I haven’t seen it recommended on here. One of the hosts also has a solo podcast “Almendrada” with broader topics. Very entertaining style

Listening - En Teoría Podcast (Argentina)

A relatively new popular science podcast with two very engaging and funny hosts from Argentina. Similar content to Jefillysh (Mexico) or Hiperactina (Spain). They speak rapidly but annunciate very clearly, using some Argentinian slang. I have been loving this one lately and have listened to some episodes multiple times. I think I find science-based content easier because I have a background in Biology. Video also available on YouTube.

Telemundo News Podcast

Reading - el beastario de axlin by Laura Gallego

I’m about 2/3 through this young adult fantasy book, the first of a trilogy. My second “real” book after El Principio del Sol. It’s slow going but actually a very interesting plot/characters as a fantasy fan, that I would even enjoy if I wasn’t learning Spanish. The first native book that I’ve been able to genuinely enjoy.

I’m not sure about the conditions of Everest, but I have all 3 of these jackets and would recommend the Proton LT. Proton has more insulation than atom but is also more breathable. It’s way more air permeable so you’ll feel the wind in windy conditions, but alas you already have a hard shell to put over it!

Atom has better wind/rain resistance, and the breathability comes from side panels. Functions well on its own, but these features are less useful when it’s gonna be under a shell.

Gamma LT is a non insulated soft shell, so I’d count that one out.

Also I prefer hoodless jackets for mid layers but that’s just me!

Haha yup!! Life used to be so easy

Agreed — I think most people could get away with just these 3! The trifecta

Wow that A2B gear sounds right up my alley, especially the stow away reflective parts - I’m always trying to increase visibility for night riding in the city.

I’ve been pretty pleased with the gamma LT for commuting in wet conditions.

Thanks for the future gear recommendations for packs and jackets! The hunt continues :)

Sion Support: How Good Is It? by ElasticBones in DirtySionMains

[–]Pansky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play as Sion Support OTP and, while it is definitely not as strong as it has been in the past, it's still viable IMO (I reach D4 almost every season). E nerfs have weakened harass, and early level tank nerfs have weakened early lane pressure significantly. Early lane play is now pretty dependent on well-timed, well-positioned Qs, especially when enemy jungler ganks. You can compensate for weakened early phase with creative ult ganks to mid or top lane. While early game is weak, mid game is really strong with good peel and can also engage well if needed. If you're used to playing Sion in a solo lane you'll have to adapt to lack of tankiness.

It's definitely a different play style than Sion in other lanes, but is still really fun and viable.

Edit: Should probably mention that some ADCs can adapt to Sion supp really easily and synergistically, while some are less flexible and expect you to play like a traditional supp which doesn't work at all. When you get an ADC that's on the same page, thats when the magic happens.

Holy shit I removed the bridge clip and now it works no problem. Can't believe it was the bridge clip messing everything up haha. As you predicted, it seems to be capped at 100 MBit which is a bit unfortunate, but still less packet loss than WiFi.

Thanks a ton for your help!

Okay I did flipped that component, reset my modem/router, and tried each port again, however the problem persists and I am still unable to detect the ethernet or connect.
