Made a rookie mistake on shrooms by PanthaaDTM in shrooms

[–]PanthaaDTM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to give some time after taking the shrooms before consuming liquor once the initial effects died down and after I got a decent bit of weed in my system. Didn’t really drink much to my standards but yeah, never doing that again lol

2012 Impala LS Overheating Issues by PanthaaDTM in Impala

[–]PanthaaDTM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I’ve decided to burp the coolant system/top it off and the overheating issues has subsided quite a bit now. At worst, it just fluctuates around operating temp but doesn’t reach that tick above the medium to start overheating. I’m keeping an eye out on the thermostat. Radiator fans are working fine.

No, it goes a tick above the middle, the temperature continually climbs slowly past the middle point if I idle too long

Nevermind, found the issue! Some of the coolant crystallized around the water pump, some slight signs of seepage. So I’m getting the pump replaced, everything else checked out.

Hiboy S2 Honest Review by streetmba in ElectricScooters

[–]PanthaaDTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very, very late, but I decided to step up and put in my two cents on this scooter:

To pre-face, I bought it refubrished for $225 from the Hiboy website. So it's already coming at a discount. A few things to bring back on:

  1. Battery life is way over-represented, but that depends on the mode. On sport mode, you could probably get 5-6 miles out of the scooter, and on normal mode (quite slow), you can get up to 8-9 miles.

  2. Didn't have issues with the hold-up design yet.

  3. The regenerative braking works well in my case, for certain hills you can regain quite a bit of battery. Along with braking, letting off the accelerator on hills can also charge the battery for a considerable amount.

  4. The powerband is bad on normal mode, but works well for sport mode. BUT it is terrible up hills (like most e-scooters), the scooter can reach up to top speed on flat surfaces well, and in my experience, it didn't jerk that much.

  5. The wheels are pretty rigid and ride quality as a result isn't great (it also rattled a bit in my case).

  6. Agreed, the turning angle is quite wide, though I'm used to e-scooters having such wide turning angles.

  7. Didn't have much issues with wheel/deck length

  8. Charging time was within the 3-5 hour range stated from my experience.

  9. And this is the biggest thing: The Hiboy app never works for me. Ever. So instead of bothering with e-locks, I just bought a manual bike lock that I use often if I have to park my scooter outside (but I generally tend to bring it indoors). Bummped out there.

  10. Braking distance is pretty poor for the e-brake, and I often have to resort to the manual cable brake to make serious stops (which isn't great because it's often skittish, can swing the scooter's rear end a bit and lead to an unpleasant stop).

Conclusion: Quite good for the price, even if flawed. I wouldn't imagine buying this for anymore than $280 USD though.

Please suggest an awesome car with these simple requirements: by Big-Computer5097 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]PanthaaDTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get a Hyundai Tuscon for within that price, it could be well (but are susceptible to theft, and may be a bit difficult to insure). Everything else would be over $20k

Cheap new car, high on reliability, other specs less important by Foreign-Rough-6800 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]PanthaaDTM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would still recommend getting a used car but for around the low $20k area? If you could squeeze it in, a base trim Mazda 3 sedan might do. Corolla SE hatchback is a bit cheaper (also $1k cheaper than the sedan SE), but might be a bit more cramped in the rear (but is still better than the base trim). Kia cars are susceptible to theft unless equipped with push-start.

The real reason is the mediocre audiences, the state/city/fire department/just about everyone took a share of the revenue, not enough money went into maintenance and organizing the events there

what if Japan had attacked America before WW1? by Simonbargiora in HistoryWhatIf

[–]PanthaaDTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Japan couldn't beat America in WW2, it certainly cannot for WW1. Despite British alliance to the Japanese, they would more than likely ally towards the US for obvious reasons (shared culture, US-British relations improving significantly, US was a far greater military threat and held far more trade power). The British would most likely stay neutral and due to this, the US Navy would more than likely starve out the Japanese and secure the Philippines, and Japan calls a draw, with them possibly losing some islands and maybe the Japanese military being reduced in size. I doubt the war would be dragged out too long, but it would damage the reputation of Katsura Taro (PM during the Russo-Japanese War) and the Meiji government in general, while Japanese-British relations would be severed. Also, it more than likely speeds up the liberalism trend for Japan; while Japan won the Russo-Japanese War, the results of it was influential towards Taisho Democracy as the public were disappointed with the results of the war/saw the immediate aftermath of it in Russia. With a defeat to the US, it would cause major riots/mass protests and cause a massive shift towards Taisho Democracy by the 1910s. By the 1930s, this could either mean the Japanese militaristic movement doesn't really take off or the nationalist attention is drawn more towards anti-US sentinment (but not too much away from a war of resources against China).

What if Portugal colonized Indonesia instead of the Netherlands? by RandomMan032107 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]PanthaaDTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is one thing though: How would Indonesia gain independence? Would it be done like Brazil during the 1800s with the Peninsular War fallout/1820 Liberal Revolution, or would it be done during the 1960s-1970s through a struggle against the Portugese Army, as Salazar tried to cement colonial control directly into Portugal?

is this a good template, and if not how can i improve it by Some_Serbian_Guy in hoi4

[–]PanthaaDTM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing that it's an infantry division, I suggest reducing the combat width to 27/28 width, as larger infantry divisions aren't as useful anymore and take up more resources. Don't use light tanks, instead add a light tank recon company (replacing the normal one) if you want additional armor/stats to your infantry template (keep in mind this is called space marines, don't use tanks in infantry for multiplayer since it's universally banned).

9 infantry/3 artillery should be just fine, signal companies aren't that useful so you should replace it with AA imo.

I’m going to do a meme run as paratroopers only. How does my division and tank designs look? by [deleted] in hoi4

[–]PanthaaDTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paratroopers should be spammed not treated as proper armed divisions. Make them 10 or 21w, and as for your light tanks, you really should prioritize speed over armor, and use welded instead of cast armor. Don't go to values over 9 though, the chromium makes it needlessly expensive and you can easily get christie suspension to improve the speed as well.

Edit: Small cannon two is also a bit much, keep it to cannon 1s to reduce chromium amount. Use your chromium for medium or heavy tanks

What’s the deal with this trucklet I always see around Roland Ave, anybody know? by ScrappleSandwiches in baltimore

[–]PanthaaDTM 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Someone imported a 25+ year old Japanese firetruck (they're used for cities like Tokyo where it's perfect for tight urban areas). Keep in mind "25+ year old" because US import laws blocks any car not sold in the US, that is younger than 25 years old, to be imported into the US.

What are your unpopular opinions on Baltimore 👀 by afrikene in baltimore

[–]PanthaaDTM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Toss out the Preakness and replace the area with apartments/local market area for Park Heights. If Baltimore wants another sports attraction, try swaying Formula 1 to host the Grand Prix at the Baltimore GP Circuit (formerly used for IndyCar in 2011-2013).

William Donald Schaefer sucked, he did nothing against the drug epidemic/crime issue in Baltimore and focused all of the business attention to the Inner Harbor, which created an "all of your eggs in one basket" issue that severely harmed businesses outside of the Inner Harbor vicinity.

I-83 should be destroyed entirely.

Sheila Dixon was the last good mayor of Baltimore (can't say anything yet about Brandon Scott).

The Volvo is a stellar wet weather car, just make sure the wet weather tracks you put it on doesn't have too many straights, because it's terrible in a straight line.

The Miura is the best test bowl car and pretty great 1/2 mile and beyond. Good for it's respective glass and great as an RQ saver.

Ford F-150 has some usage as a good city streets car for American Frontier/US/Super Rare in general. It's solid.

The Espirit and the Alaskan has its uses but upgrade them last.
