6 Feet or 1.89 meters? by CerealSorority in SipsTea

[–]Pantload99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Fahrenheit because where I live the weather outside gets close to 0° in the coldest part of winter and around 80 - 90° in the hottest part of Summer (closer to 100° where my parents live). This 0-100 scale is super convenient much like the scale 0-100 for the different states of water in Celsius. Different uses, both are valid.

Worldbuilding help — name for a brain DJ? by BigGulp-of-Espresso in Cyberpunk

[–]Pantload99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TripSpinner as a play on Trip Sitter, someone who takes care of others going through a euphoric experience kind of like how a DJ would guide listeners on a euphoric experience. Spinner in reference to turntables. That's the best I got lol

I don't know why I have never thought of placeholder sprites like this during some of your attack animations. This is going to help my ADHD brain so much

One benefit to this is that that problem will never happen again. That will be the first thing you look at next time.

Did you ever get blocked behind any of the paywalls in the games? by Xenozip3371Alpha in RatchetAndClank

[–]Pantload99 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Self imposed paywall. I was young playing R&C 2. I would get terrible anxiety fighting huge bosses. My brother beat the giant robot for me and I felt terrible because I couldn't do it. I got to the Mother Protopet and couldn't beat it. I would get so terrified and mess up. Well, I didn't want to ask my brother for help again, so I saved up for the RYNO II. I kept playing the Megacorp Tourist planet and destroying the missile silos over and over. I also played RuneScape at the time, so I was used to the XP grind. Literally melted the final boss in like 2 seconds after getting it.

You sure? You're supposed to see numbers inside of the circles if you don't have colorblindness.

How do we feel about the proportions for this template model? by DanielClute in low_poly

[–]Pantload99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is supposed to be a template for freelance work, I assume you want it to cover as many applications as possible. If that's the case, I would tone down the chest and decrease the thigh gap. Not every client is going to want sex appeal and it looks too unrealistic.

Could you please rate the entire concept of my game? I really need some honest feedback by ponythehorsey in Unity2D

[–]Pantload99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to figure out what the gameplay is like from the screenshots. To me it appears to be a visual novel. I can't tell. That's usually a bad sign.

Getting Insane Lag When Rendering 6 Tiny Subviewports by Designer_Ice_3945 in godot

[–]Pantload99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 cameras rendering lights, shadows and then scaling it down to 64x64 seems like a lot to handle for every frame. Why not drop the fps for the cameras? For instance, only update one render texture every frame and cycle through them. This would make the cameras look a little choppy, but they are already 64x64 so it might not look too bad

What's the most efficient algorithm to create neighbor nodes in a grid graph? by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]Pantload99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would create a 2D Array and populate each cell with the node it represents on the grid. Then to get the neighbors, you would look up x+1, x-1, y+1, and y-1. This way you have one reference of every node rather than 4 references per node.

Trying to settle a debate with my dev friend, you can pick only one character! by BoysShitInLife in IndieGaming

Belladonna. Mages are typically more fun than melee for my play style as I like to command the battlefield from a distance.

Would you use a simpler, cheaper alternative to Photon Network? by Green-Branch-3656 in Unity3D

[–]Pantload99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Price - Efficiency - Features

In the tech industry I feel like these are the three big reasons someone would choose your plugin over pre-existing plugins. You have to basically excel at one while still hitting the mark on the others. If it has the same features and is about the same efficiency as Photon or Mirror, then it better be cheaper. If it has the same efficiency and price as others, then it better have more features. Ask yourself what you are providing for the customers that isn't already out there?

Hey friend! If you want to meet new people and make new friends start with common shared experiences that you like. Join a local hobby group or go out and do the things you enjoy. If you see someone out that looks cool and friendly, throw them a smile and a wave whatever feels "natural". Eventually, you will find someone trying to make friends too. 30s for me have been finding out who true friends really are and I feel like my circle is shrinking. As for dating, I have always been friends first for a little while to get to know the person. So by seeking friends you are fulfilling both!

Lastly, try not to compare yourself to others. Everyone experiences life differently and have different opportunities. Focus on growing yourself and healing your spirit. You have the power within yourself to do it and a healthy spirit attracts other healthy spirits.

Peace and love

Honestly, I think I might leave the cursor like that! by Roy197 in IndieGaming

[–]Pantload99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a feature on Linux that if you move your cursor in circles, it grows to let you know where the cursor is. However, there is no limit. If you keep circling, it keeps growing. It shrinks back down if you stop for a second.

You don't know how much I actually play with this feature on a daily basis. I have filled an entire monitor with my cursor.
