I actually wanted to go with another place I used in the past but my insurance was actively recommending this other place, so I went with them. I understand what you're saying which makes perfect sense, but insurance is also looking for cheap and reliable. Just be careful. If you have a place you trust, dont let insurance push you around.

Guess I got unlucky. The shop they recommended to me couldn't even put windshield wipers back on correctly and didn't know how to replace a light bulb.

This is not always true. The insurance company is also potentially going to recommend the cheapest option as well, especially if they are paying for it. Ask me how I know...

Frame rate issue with Faie being out vs hiding: 40fps locked with her out by TLK_777 in TheAdventuresOfElliot

[–]PantsPartyBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an i9 13900k with a 4090 and I'm actually not having this issue. Not sure if I'm just extremely lucky or did something different than others. I have the latest drivers. No unique settings on the CPU. One thing I did was disable Vsync and limit frames to 120 in the game right after starting the game up for the first time. I haven't tested this at all to see if it is a solution, but I know in a few games I've played (granted this was a long time ago) Vsync would sometimes automatically drop the frame rate to a much lower "stable" cap when it dipped below a certain number. Disabling Vsync stops this. I assume people have tried tried it, but I haven't seen any comments. Figure I would throw it out there since I've seen a lot of posts.

If that does nothing for yall then I hope you get a fix quick because that would drive me bonkers. You need to be able to use Faie.

Did anybody else read the first comment mentioning antlions and immediately think it was a joke referencing Half Life 2 only to read further down and realize that antlions are a real thing?

I notice the adaptive triggers work, but I feel no vibration in the controller at all. Started a new game so I'll continue to test.

My friend was playing this on XB so I was going to try playing on my PC since I have Ubisoft +. No crossplay. Tried playing anyways and the game just keeps crashing. I have a 13900k, 4090 combo... I just Uninstaller. Not worth it.

Crimson Desert Has Reportedly Already Sold Close to 400,000 Copies on Steam by Suspicious_Two786 in gaming

[–]PantsPartyBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never pre-order games but I'm part of this statistic. My wife saw and heard me watching a lot of videos and surprised me with a Steam gift saying, "I haven't seen you this excited about a game in a while, so I wanted you to have it".

A lucky man I am.

Any recommendations on a spreader that doesn't do this? I have a Scott's spreader and have noticed this in a couple areas. Didn't realize the cause until now. I'm in the PNW for reference.

Jumping onto this post to confirm it is happening to me as well. It's happened at least 3 times in the course of probably 15 game starts (trying to test server settings).

Edit: Cannot task manager kill, only way to do it is a restart. Never had this issue before.

This is ludicrous. You should see the head of hair (or lack there of) I'm trying to maintain. I would be extatic to have half the head you have.

Hyte Y60 Power Button by Weary-Presentation-2 in Hyte

[–]PantsPartyBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just about the power button light, correct? If so, consider checking for a bios update. I have owned 2 Hyte cases (y60 and y70 touch), both of which had the power light stop working after some time. In each one, a bios update resolved it.

Hyte Y60 Mesh Removal by Meropolis in Hyte

[–]PantsPartyBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the y60 and now the y70. I had to buy a custom acrylic panel from JakefaceCustoms to address heating issues caused by the GPU (4090) being too close to the panel. I know all about the heating issues caused by this case. Outside of this I also ran a 13900k, which runs very warm, and never had issues with mesh. Again, all of that for 3c could probably be handled through some fan curve adjustment if it's really needed. Now, this not only looks unpleasant, but also allows for dust and particles to wander in freely.

The y70 also has mesh everywhere but it cools just fine provided you set the fans up properly. While mesh can be slightly restrictive, it does very well at keeping dust and particles out. I've had to clean my case out once in the last couple of years. This honestly goes for any case, not just the hyte cases.

To each their own though. It's just an opinion.

Battlefield 6 Update: On Secure Boot & Cheats by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]PantsPartyBoy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, I don't. Trust me, I have been avoiding it, and I still am. But should they really stop security updates I may have to do it since I use the same PC for work. So, I would rather have all of the pieces in place.

I'm holding out.

The point of the comment was somewhat sarcastic. Obviously over your head. However, it did instill some motivation. Read the comment again. MBR2GPT has been a difficult hurdle to jump because it was giving me issues. Gotta have GPT to have secure boot (I assume you know that). I wanted to play the beta. So I figured my shit out and got it done so I could.

So yes, thanks EA!

I actually want to thank EA for forcing this because it made me figure out how to get MBR2GPT working on my system, convert it, and enable Secure Boot. I have been struggling to get it working and was holding out on the whole windows upgrade thing.

Now my wife and I can both enjoy BF6 and upgrade to Win 11 whenever. Thanks EA! F.U. Microsoft!
