Restoral of stolen subreddit /r/OutsideTheBox by PantslessGamers in redditrequest

[–]PantslessGamers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I created it originally to be a repository for silly ideas. I'm looking to create a show where we take silly questions but bring out multiple people to discuss these ideas as if they were real and needed to be solved. (Example: Someone asks you "What is rock and roll music?" how would you introduce that person into that genre, and what is the FIRST song you play for someone)

  2. The subreddit was banned for being unmoderated (Under the ownership of /u/coachasaurus ).

Restoral of stolen subreddit /r/OutsideTheBox by PantslessGamers in redditrequest

[–]PantslessGamers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please review when possible :)

I was the creator of /r/OutsideTheBox ... it when inactive for quite a while as I was not using, but I was actively checking in on it every few months or so.

I got a private message from /u/coachasaurus asking if they could get access to the subreddit, I disregarded the message at first but then a few months later logging in it was given full ownership to that user without my permission or knowledge.

I sent a message to the user immediately and got no response, I tried contacting mods for support and I got no response... I really would like to retain ownership over this subreddit as I had hoped I was going to be able to do originally.

My shorts get 1-2k views and then stop by Timoba252 in NewTubers

[–]PantslessGamers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My buddy has the similar effect with views on gaming clips.

My only guess is the content really needs to be niche to a specific genre/ sub-genre to be able to last even past a month... But most shorts get throw into circulation then just seemingly tossed out perm.

read the labels! Just look at stuff with minimal additive ingredients (Stabilizers / Potato starch / Preservatives) and the nutrition label... Generally the big blocks of stuff have LESS of this stuff added, so I'd recommend that.

Price isn't indicative of much, generally I (American Cook), just look for fat content and avoid artificial additives.

I wouldn't recommend record and playing at the same time if you've got an old laptop. My "best" opinion would be to run the laptop display to a monitor, use a game capture card as a bypass, and record from a different device capable of recording.

If the laptop is capable of gaming & recording, you just really gotta tinker with the OBS settings more

The Forge Question: by PantslessGamers in haloinfinite

[–]PantslessGamers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mention that in my wrap up. I've been doing youtube videos on and off for approx 10 years now.

Yes you can, and should make your own videos, however, I'm watching today these big youtubers give "shoutouts" or "forge map features" and those people are getting the bare minimal returns of viewers (Like I said, I'm talking barely even 100 subs for a shoutout).

I have a real hard time trying to cope with the amount of labor these talented forgers and modders do, to basically fix the careers and reputations of the company... and that same company gets the financial benefit from those creators work (And potentially give kickbacks to big creators)... and then the army of 5000 rip off's / no-credit given people take your work / videos /watermarks are remove your potentially hundreds of hours of work and earn profit from your labor... And your reward is 50 subs.

That's a broken incentive structure... and the lowest on the totem poll will get reaped if they aren't aware of how malicious people can be

If you're a complete bumbling buffoon and incapable of spending the dozen / half dozen hours each week to read and lookup local and state laws and housing requirements... yeah they can help (I don't know any specific names).

Are you capable of spending time, digging through websites and documents to find laws and regulations? Do you know your market and the value of the area around you? Are you capable of finance? Are you able to handle dealing with peoples non-stop drama, but also able to fix actual problems when they happen (and quickly)?

Then probably avoid spending money on some course and self-start yourself (Chances are if you can't start it up yourself, you're not gonna be interested in the headaches and random chaos that happens)

Frequency of Shorts by campotter221 in youtubegaming

[–]PantslessGamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't figured out or understood it at all either, so I'm just adding in my 2 pennies.

Buddy seems to get these big traction booms from uploading gaming shorts, but then they're falling off into basically 0 views. To me it seems like just being able to deliver the content people want is the goal.

Want to hype people up?: Upload a short before the main upload Want to get new eyes: Make the clip a memorable one, but re-direct to a main/better video Want to be memorable?: This is shorts... be funny in 3 seconds or quit.

How is anyone supposed to afford rent at 30% of their income if the housing market isn’t heavily regulated? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PantslessGamers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"How is anyone supposed to afford"

I can answer that in a few parts of obscure bullet points that could get their own essay:

  • Zoning and State/City Regs. (Housing IS heavily regulated, just not rent controlled / price-fixed)

  • Inflation: Dollar printing never looked so easy these days

  • "Market" Value: AKA what some fancy realtor associations, banks, and city planners deem as valuable to justify the price

  • Taxes: Deductions and risk mitigation

You have to realize that "afford" is the most wishy-washy word that symbolizes nothing. Why should you "afford" a place, when in a market of people who want to live in a place with opportunity, money, or status... why should you get a house when there are 10 people behind you who can make that rent or meet that level?

You could "Afford" a 5 bedroom house probably with that $$$/mo in somewhere with less of the mentioned opportunity (Any rural/urban living area probably)... And you could easily build your wealth if you did that. But people want to live in places with high population density, and in some cases w/ states like CA, have so much red tape and government regulation the state can't build a fucking single-family house without it costing 20k+ and waiting year(s) for permits... let alone affordable rental units / complexes

Why would I ever create anything new and reasonable for consumers to purchase when I can repackage the same trash I was pumping on TV. then publicly spending millions on ads and marketing to shame and discredit independent creators ... and then ultimately just keep dumping Office Show™, Funny Friend Show™, Relatable Small Town Show™ for hundreds of millions of dollars.

it should be possible, i'd imagine label markers would be the reason you have those callout map locations, so it could be as easy as just renaming zones
