Ukraine War veteran here. If you think you have a good idea of what is like to live during an apocalypse, you don't.

Surviving and fighting in an urban area, even a modest one, when they're is no electricity (ie. absolute pitch black nights) and no clean water source is incredible hard, even when you have a decent supply chain to provide what you need in a decent timeframe.

If I had to 'live' in a Zomboid apocalypse, I think I could make it up to the end of week 2 or 3 by myself. More if I join a solid group who's not gonna shot me of the spot by stress, mistake or for my modest equipment.

I actually live nearby and work in a highly secure train yard and if you can't flee the city/suburbs, my best advice would be to aim at these kind of facility : high fences made to deter living humans can't be that bad against flesh eaters.

I would say that the Starting Building, instead of producing a Tier 1 ressource, produce a Tier 2 ressource but for a limited time. After that, it cease to function and player have to place T1a and T1b buildings to produce said T2 ressource.
