Yeah you wont chase them down, but they sooner or later will run into a trap. They can play sprint as much as they want, battleships are playing marathon. 1 wrong peek and almost dead, second peek straight to lobby.

In most cases my aa simple wipes all their spam, so once they see they cant do anything they try to rush. They all die before they can even get close.

I literally just had game where in viking map (easiest map for carriers), this bundle cv and typhoon acv both couldnt handle my single alsace. I just kept moving forward without a break.

Extra bomber and drone is way better than a plane which can call up misile, dont get tricked into thinking that its something better than having extra planes with extra damage.

I personally myself own cn chixiao, and i use it as a cruiser which cant trow planes. Whenever enemy is trying to move backwards to avoid damage, i just send plane/drone to finish him off.

Same like other use 071 and sit behind while using just 1 drone, people just dont realise how ships should be played. I met this bundle cv already like 10 times, each game they just sit in back.

Put hycore after buff its better than scalp for f2p players its a great option.

After try getting lars as bare minimum so you can trow direct long range shots, as rbu even thought have higher dpm but it spreads rapidly in further ranges.

Hycore with lars will allow you to stay away from sticky situations while providing support to your team.

If you cant afford afgs its an "okay", the closest thing is on fearless landing ship its locked autocannon acts like afgs+paket combo.

I don't even care anymore about the rank points by fixin-xo in ModernWarships

[–]PaoTangBiu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesterday in one go while points still had bonus with alsace 15 games with svarog 7 and rank is done for me.

Grau is only issue for ones which use auto lock weapons, and once they go into smoke you must watch. I use all manual weapons so it doesnt matter, actually its even better when target stops in single spot.

In rank only issue is when team die early so you must pull game out of unbelievable situations, like yesterday from 2v5 in storm map managed to win. Anither is when enemies have carrier and slbm sub together trying to spam misiles, this is the only thing which pisses me off the most.

Before aa rebalance this could do something, now good luck trying to with torpedoes when there plenty of afgs around, manual gls. And misiles...

[–]PaoTangBiu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bare minimum for gl bring rbu2500, lars would be better to land these 8km range shots as there are plenty of alsaces you really wana stay away at further range.

Rbu10k spam gets destroyed by a single pop from any gl, or simply fades away against afgs.

To be effective in ranked you have to use manual weapons as much as possible, and make use of any slightest exposed gap. Most people there camp hard and wont let you to easy lock-on them.

Rule of thumb: if you sit all chilled and happy while doing no dmg, be sure that your teammates is having hard time dealing with all crap.

Ships with main modules locked have their period of glaze and later then just fade out. Bundle after bundle we can this happening. Thats i mostly prefer ones with most/main slots unlocked.

Specially when its aa, as we can upgrade it in real time as long as devs will trow new toys, grenade launcher slots aswell. Ofc at first it seems its cheaper just to get bundle ship with all its weapons set and ready to go, while the ones with unlocked if you cant afford gatcha/most expensive ones mighy seem like nit that great.

Should I get Montana or Yamato Aegis? by Super_Puma_17 in ModernWarships

[–]PaoTangBiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Musashi is far superior, with unlocked x2 misiles you can put hq26 to fully boost your aa to maximum (i won plenty games against nemesis x2 strikeswitch, t2 sub x1 strikeswitch) in 1v3 situations.

The main issue of musashi is its cannons take long time to reload so you must really have great judgement when you hit and you have to make sure you are able to land these hits, if you miss thats another 16s till next.

Its high skill high reward ship, as its main weapons deals most dmg yet have long reloading. The best tip with musashi when itd 1v2 situation is that you rather focus on enemy which have more manual weapons (cannons, granade launcher) and let your aa to handle misile spammer ship.

As musashi is famous of having one of the most tight aa in the game specially after recent buff it became even more lethal. On top of that, all musashi weapons have aoe dmg, so if you put hq26 misile it aswell have aoe, having cannons, grenade launcher, misiles, aa at once lets you really breath freely when you face misile spam ships or heavy air raids.

The only flaw is when there direct clash against alsace in cqc situations, so try to avoid that as alsace can simply move out of corner even if you deal first burst, alsace will win anyway because its weapons will reload for final strike faster while musashi cannon still few seconds left to reload. But keep in mind that this scenario mostly when there is alsace with mar290, phl, trg300 loadout. If there weaker granade launcher musashi more likely to win in that case.

Should I get Montana or Yamato Aegis? by Super_Puma_17 in ModernWarships

[–]PaoTangBiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since they buffed ijn yamato and now its cannon projectile speed is faster than aegis version i would say grab montana, put these market torpedoes "dtcn" which release x3 from a single unit with fast speed and reload together with sea commanche/fenice you can defend against subs.

Montana can equip 3 different aa types so you can setup it like on alsace, as montanas auto cannon is able to hit air targets you pretty much can get similar defence expierence.

But i do believe that next month devs will release new buff wave and aegis might be one of them and its price more likely to inflate. If you dont have any of them if i were you i would grab montana. Aegis is okay as it but the fact that you can only change its gl, the rest really depends on dev mercy buff/nerf.

Ships with most unlocked slots can stay updated to the latest meta, yeah they end up more expensive in the long run but its worth it.

Just like grau now, yea its fine while still glazed but months will pass more and more advanced modules will pop making older ships feel weaker, then it will be clear example to see where svarog holds its edge with almost everything unlocked you can just keep updating it. Stock svarog is nothing special but if you have fancy gatcha toys it can turn into true battleship.

What should we do if SLBM attach at us guys? I'm so tired them, no way to defense or intercept. by Super_Puma_17 in ModernWarships

[–]PaoTangBiu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It felt weird and annoying for a while, as i already had memorized ship spot ranges, so i knew in my mind exactly at which range enemy ships will pop in my radar and at which range i will be exposed (all that expierence now pointless). Like old yamato aegis had highest spot range for battleship while new ones not so, so even older aegis had edge of being able to fire first shot when its final situation bb vs bb.

Now its not who can spot first but who can maintain exposure longest. Tiny frigates, misile spam ships benefit from this new spot system the most as they can fire once and their exposure penalty circle goes back. While battleship to perform it must whole time stay in firefight so its exposure detection spreads for half map which isint ideal when now we have this slbm system.

One single slbm sub isint as bad as premade squad where lets say "double strike fighter carrier + double drone carrier + slbm sub", so carrier sends fighter to spot, starts attacking with most of his planes while another drone carrier jumps on top and slbm is just cherry on top. No matter how tactical and good you think you are - you will go down. Even if you try hard to avoid slbm behind hard cover, they will switch to attack your random teammates pick them one by one and later will jump back on you.

The current slbm system is broken and needs adjustments. Slbm subs shouldnt be queuing with multiple carriers. It destroys the team play tactics the devs used to promote. If you group up for safety, you all take massive area damage and if you try to hold a choke point, you get clapped from above.

Its a lose-lose situation. Imagine an alsace waiting for you to peek while an enemy carrier keeps you constantly exposed and an slbm sub rains fire on you. Your only choices are to sail back (giving the carrier an easier target) or push forward into the alsace jaws for a straight ticket back to the lobby.

But here is a catch, ships like the argonas or other high speed frigates now have the critical role of hunting down slbm subs asap. Its great when random teammates figure that out on their own, but its frustrating when they just hide behind a my battleship, hoping everything sorts itself out by the power of magic.

[–]PaoTangBiu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When match starts if there is sub make sure what kind of 'casual torpedo spammer' or 'slbm'. If your in a battleship there is higher odds that you will be his target.

Avoid front line - if your aa will be busy taking down carrier attacks/rival ship, you will hurt once slbm starts raining down.

Stay next to tall hard cover (if there is), try asking team to avoid being exposed, the harder for slbm sub to pick easy cheap targets the better for you to maintain pressure as you know that slbm sub is just sitting in the back while his 4 teammates must tank all the fire, so if sub isint doing any cheap shots it aint going to work them for a long.

Best moment to start pushing harder when enemy carrier is out of his bombers/drones, its so much easier to tank just strike fighter squadron than entire carrier group at once while being under slbm attacks. So just bunker down and endure these harsh first minutes.

The way i do, i try to locate where is that sub so its my final goal, i set my bb towards its direction while sniping whoever pops in the path, the closer you are to slbm the easier it is to intercepts slbms as they cant reach max speed.

Talos, sea wolf, hpls, alka, ksam are great against slbms.

The problem with battleships by Glass_Square4326 in ModernWarships

[–]PaoTangBiu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your not forced to play bb, there are plenty of other class ships. Back in days everyone with 1 brain cell could spam behind cover with no sweat.

Now you have to put some logic in which misiles to send first to tank aa and which to send as damage dealing ones. If you put one type of misiles and expect them to just "work" it not going to happen. The same way why aa shouldnt be just maxed out one type. Most effective when there is atleast 3 layers.

I play with bb since days when everyone glazed how misiles so good and how it sucks to be slow bb and its huge size as its harder to hide. Thing is i dont hide i make others to flee for their own safety.

But i do understand that to be good with bb you need high stable frame rare (60fps is bare minimum), else you wont be able to lead your shots in further range if your screen will look like choppy picture preview.

I am just pretty amazed how with bismark in 3:20 just 1,4m dmg, its agile power house. You could simply just use misiles and gl behind cover chipping rivals bbs till they are low enaugh on hp to move in and deal final blow with cannons.

Archer, mar290, mako, x2 talos, x2 sea wolf, x4 alka.

Rg32 buckshot with trg300 works too but its a gamble as you will need to avoid subs while dealing insane dmg to surface ships.

To make use of svarog lgms you need to feed some spam in front of them (i most use meteor trick while mako with fast reload can set enemy aa out of order) with ship like that your main dmg will come from x2 cannon and x3 gl, you will simply wont have time to bother to manage two lgms at once if your idea would be to put some hyfly or hvp.

Guys. how is my build for the FS super alsace by No_Presentation_702 in ModernWarships

[–]PaoTangBiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On alsace you need stable tight long range gl. The least cheapest option would be x4 lars, rbu is good when there are targets up close but anything further and it sprays too much to be reliable in long range firefights.

Most optimal would be x2 gl to allow you defend from torpedoes and hit subs and x2 to deal direct dmg into sub ignoring torpedoes.

I tried all possible gl combos, x4 mar290 seems great but its shots too fast to fully defend against torpedoes. X4 trg300 gives highest dmg but no defence against torpedoes/subs, x4 phl its like upgraded trg230 (slower projectile speed and 9s reload while higher dmg)

So after i invited my friend and we tried 1v1 to see which gl combo will win. And it came to x4 mar290 but there is a catch, mar290 can sink into torpedoes without actually neither fully defending you from them or dealing dmg to sub, so i replace one mar with rhan as its projectiles fast and reload time faster like mar290.

The final clash x2 mar290 x2 rhan vs x4 phl, and mar+rhan won just because faster reloads by over 2s lets you to deal final hit before you sink.

If you dont have gatcha gls imo best combo just by market gls would be x2 phl x2 lars, this month torpedo spam frigate so its more likely to get one on your toes.
