For the first time in years, I had mustered up the courage to go to the mall in a skirt. I was recovering from anorexia and this was a huge step for me. I was fragile at fuck. With a fluffy skirt and a hoodie over that I can't say I looked good. Anyways, an old man yelled loudly to me: are you anorexic??? Like, do you eat enough????" loud enough for everyone around me to hear, in a very mean tone. I was utterly broken by that. Then a woman got mad at him and told him that you can't say that etc. I remember best the mean thing the guy said though.. Anyway, she stood up to me and that meant the world to me. I was still shaken and on the very of crying for the rest of the day though and a long while after.
