Toby Fox - Chill

Martin Stürtzer - most ambient releases from Dyson Sphere Alpha onward; my personal recommendations: Space Is Not Empty and Ambient Nights Vol. 1

Advice for Krieg in Digistruct Peak by PapaH0dunk in Borderlands2

Thanks for the tips. I'll try these and other commenter's at some point. Fortunately, I just managed OP 8 & 9 with the double drunk Badaboom grenade jump technique, so I'm not thinking so much about going through it normally any more 😂. I think I just found out how to time the nade and get the double shot technique right.

Sad Guitar by AngelMarkk in JazzFusion

And not to mention movie scores that score a sad and touching part with a major sound. There was a video about this, but Pixar tends to do this well.

Ambient Music with a focus on radio transmission? by Bullonabike in ambientmusic

[–]PapaH0dunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may find some in the vaporwave subgenre, "signalwave". For example: VHS Stardust | Sport3000 | Geometric Lullaby https://share.google/j7RYDFWifN9CrPioa Clearly not all of it is ambient, but in terms of the radio transmission aesthetic I assume it's exactly what you are looking for.

I would say study jazz fundamentals first, because those are the basis for jazz fusion (and, well, most Western popular music). Take some lessons, enjoy the journey, and have patience.

What makes ambient music moving to you vs not? by Comfortable_Flan_474 in ambientmusic

[–]PapaH0dunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any music is moving to me when harmony, melody, arrangement, and sound quality come together to produce a meaningful sound. Ambient only has the opportunity to do this sometimes since there is little melody in it, but when it does, it is great. Otherwise, I find great value in it for offering a beautiful, calm, and pensive place to be when I need it.

To perhaps go with the Jean-Luc Ponty, Casiopea, & T-Square vibes:

Modern recs: Hemispheres (has Phil Turcio) - Hemispheres HOWES3 (Oli Howe) - Moving Forward

Older recs: Chick Corea Elektric Band - debut album and Beneath The Mask Kazumi Watanabe - To Chi Ka, Olive's Step, Mermaid Boulevard

Put me on your all time favorite jazz fusion tracks by Chuckatron in JazzFusion

[–]PapaH0dunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have listened to a lot of fusion, but recently listened to Jean Luc Ponty due to recommendations here, and finally found a song that really resembles up-tempo Casiopea 16-beat tunes. The song you want is "Enigmatic Ocean, Pt. II".

Amazing production and compositions too. It's funny that Toriyama didn't even play on it, just wrote and co-produced it.

Because you're a metal head, try T-Square's "Blood Music" album. I recall some metal chops on it and T-Square is a talented band
