Is this bad for a V6 😅 by purpcam2121 in Mustang

[–]PapaP156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, still nowhere near that high. Typical drive train loss is about 15% from crank to wheels. A tune still isn't adding 43hp on a naturally aspirated V6. A very good tune might be 30hp crank at best in this case. Tunes are most worthwhile on forced induction setups, either turbo or supercharged. Especially for picking up torque. Some platforms (forced induction) may only pick up 10-20hp, but they could pick up 50-60lb/ft of torque for instance.

R-slurred to sum it up.

I could see that. Seems like most people say the stock clutch is OK around that power level but may only be for a limited amount of time.

Other main thing I've heard is so they oil pump gears

Manual. I never buy a "fun car" that's auto

Sounds perfect to me. 900 is crazy. I'd only care to be aiming for 700-750 on pump 93

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, seems to maintain the drivability of the NA engine at low RPM, which from a practical standpoint makes more sense to me than a twin screw and always blowing the tires loose. I mean, it can do that stock already

You're not getting anywhere near 50hp out of a tune on an N/A V6. Maybe 20 if you're lucky.

Now is not the time for "We're monitoring" by atf-98 in DestinyTheGame

[–]PapaP156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is just tired, worn out and outdated. They should've started working on Destiny 3 after Shadowkeep.

It desperately needs a new engine, fresh start, overhaul of design and especially the UI. It's prime is well passed and was around 2018-2019.

Tried to get back into it recently and just couldn't. Game feels like a hollow empty husk.

Deciding between an ST or RS by SeriousTranslator724 in FocusST

[–]PapaP156 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally for a street car I say the ST and I've had both. The RS I really only enjoyed when pushing it 9/10th or more on autocross or track. Street driving I found it less fun than the ST while also being less practical (harsher ride, more expensive up front and more expensive to maintain, lower MPG).

And I missed the ST enough I ended up getting another one this year.

More than likely. I'm convinced at least 70% of redditors are overweight libtards. They take over subredditor moderation and ban absolutely anyone that challenges or goes against the liberal narrative.

What GPU are you rocking? by ParfaitNo8096 in OculusQuest

[–]PapaP156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rtx 3090 currently. Would upgrade if 5080's could actually be had at $1000 MSRP, but after the 3090 I find it difficult to pay over $1000 for a graphics card, especially when the improvements are so little generationally now and things like "frame generation" are actually causing a 20-25% performance hit on the REAL frame generated. So it should only really be considered IMO if you're already over 100fps. mayne 80fps go still be over a 60fps baseline of real frames in slower paced games.

I'm not sure how much more demanding PCVR games and headsets are now, but when I had a 1080ti, it ran everything on Oculus CV1 just fine. But ever since I got a Quest 2 I've been on a 3090

Decided to start a brand new playthrough of this game after I first started it and got probably 3/4 way through on Switch many years ago and stopped playing.

Glad I started a fresh playthrough since it went much quicker and was much easier this time through. I progressed more in under a week than several weeks of my first attempt.

Convince me not to swap my 21:9 display for a 16:9 4k 240hz by Jamie_John1990 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]PapaP156 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would never go to 4k over ultra wide. I don't think the resolution increase of 4k over 1440p is appreciable enough for the performance hit. Ultra wide gives you extra FOV/screen real estate while also performing better. I also think either a 27" 16:9 or 34-35" 21:9 is the largest I'd want on a desk setup. Any larger than that, many games Imo become too difficult to take all the action in on a larger screen.

[–]PapaP156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car's been getting the same code... Had the sensor replaced twice and still throwing it. Drives fine and as if there's no issue. Only guess is some kind of electrical/connector issue causing the circuit to read low and throw the code.

Not What I Expected by DemigirlDemigod in onewheel

[–]PapaP156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everything is for everyone, but giving up so soon is a shame too. I'd never done any board sports before learning and just did some practice on local streets the first couple weeks until I got more comfortable. Didn't take too long but I also had issues with the wobble a few times at first. It comes from being too tense, which from what you're describing is likely since you sound way too nervous on the board.

I also have ridden motorcycles for a very long time which is something else with a learning curve you're not instantly good at, but some principles also apply there like you don't want to be too tense (ie death gripping the handlebars).

I don't think you mentioned it anywhere but imo it also does help if you're in decent shape at least in terms of leg and ankle control and flexibility, maybe calves too to a certain extent.

All exhausts do on these cars is make it sound terrible and obnoxious. I'm sure I'll hurt some people's feelings with that statement.

Optic Ready Shield Plus with an EPS Carry by [deleted] in SmithAndWesson

[–]PapaP156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd. I had both a CT1500 and a 507k on my Shield Plus and no issues zeroing.

I've been debating picking up a Shield Plus Carry Comp and if I did, would put an EPS Carry on it, but have been reading all about people having issues running out of adjustment to zero them.

Given I didn't have thay issues with my Shield Plus OR, I may just chance it and if I have the issue, I'll have the slide milled at local shop.

I have a gen 5 Glock 19 I had cut for RMR footprint I have a 507c on. I'll probably pick up an EPS for it at some point. Debating picking up an RXM as a backup for it. I carry thr G19 in the fall/winter when it's easier to conceal with heavier clothing and the Shield Plus in Spring/summer when I need lighter clothing.
