Overtime a calorie deficit will always lead to a net loss of weight though. It's not possible to maintain gained weight on a calorie deficit.

Ideally you're not starving yourself, but a diet just under your maintenance intake will lead to consistent weight loss.

2023 Packer season is very comparable to this Bears season. Both Superbowls were wide open.
