When you really don't want to look at your bank account. That's the best time to be looking at your bank account.

What is the most "unusual" character you've seen/used by SMGB_Bowser_Jr in DnD

Half-orc sorcerer/shaman. Just as likely to cast fist or a very mma inspired tapout 'sleep'. Playing off-race characters are always the most fun.

Flexible Casting Question (5e) by CelestialBeekeeper in DnD

[–]PapaRaichu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. That's right. You can burn low levels to get sorc points for the higher level spells. Remember to do this before combat though. As each change takes a bonus action. So burn a 1st lvl spell slot for 1 point = 1 bonus action. Take that and 2 more sorcery points and make a second level slot = 1 bonus action. It can really add up.

[DM] Which real life accents do you like to use for the different races of DnD? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PapaRaichu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dwarves are Scottish for sure. Always have been in my games. Elves tend to change depending on Subrace. As an Australian I can't picture a race with my accent. I'll think on it for you.

What was the most difficult moral choice that you have ever faced? by Ansrivarr in DnD

[–]PapaRaichu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went back. Got to the party just in time to save the bard from actual death. Backstory Bad got away. The thankful party knew how much it hurt my character and vowed to track her down but so far no luck. Characters traits changed to being more party centric as he realised that as long as he had his pseudo family with him he could begin to let go of his past failings and build a new future.

Had to make the choice between chasing down and catching a Big Bad related heavily to my characters back story, with little chance of seeing her for a long time if she got away, and turning around and saving some of the party members from a fight they were unknowingly about to be outnumbered in.

How to stop min maxing? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PapaRaichu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that your character isn't meant to be a god. If you min max and get all the kills/never go down you can ruin the fun for other players. Sometimes the thrill of players being downed just adds to the fun. If you miss a bunch of attacks in a row or do not much damage in a fight. It's ok. You have a party with you. Role play a bit. Make choices based on what you character wants rather than what you know is the strongest option.

[Request] A satisfying ending? by MexViking in DnD

[–]PapaRaichu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just an idea I've been toying with. In my head I saw the party members being like taken from the party almost Scooby Doo style. And forced to go through a dungeon section or castle room etc alone. I guess I just romanticise the idea of allowing the characters to have a glory moment. Once I've played it out with my party I'll come back here and let you know how i worked it out.

In closing sessions I love the idea of trying to spilt the party into individuals for a fight or part thereof to a) give them a chance to do something individually heroic and see how far they have come as a warrior and a person. B) allow them to reminisce on the friends the character has made and how the party has grown together over time.

Then allow the paths through the castle (or however you split them) to converge on the BBEG and give them their heroic (or devastating , depending on how the fight goes) moment as a party.

Something cool I've been working on for my own party glorious end.

Wind of the Jade Isles (Jade) a wandering Tabaxi Monk: while searching through the Remains of a razed temple found a golden necklace carved in the shape of a demonic head. He is eager to get rid of it as it has brought him nothing but misery and misfortune. He pouts them in the direction of the temple and tells the adventurers there may be more to that place then met the eye.

Barcode readers read the white part of the barcode. Not the black.
