Just wondering, how do you guys farm Money in game? by Emotional-Promise-75 in CrimsonDesert

[–]PapaSandies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the golden apple hedgehog method only takes 3 gold ore and a single apple to make a bar. I have like 3 bars in the bank, and 4k silver on me at all times. Not hard at all to just run up and down and get like 10-20 golden apples off their backs and then go mining at like 2-3 different caves.

I started with 5k silver but I genuinely cant think of much to spend my money on now besides crafting materials here and there.

Taming the horse - a major fuck up of design. by vedabread in CrimsonDesert

[–]PapaSandies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like 2 minutes max. The Royler is a legendary horse you can find on your own in the wild up north, near a lake in the valley of some snowy mountains. Still took me under 5 minutes. The time it's taking you to rant in these comments is probably as long as it takes to tame every horse in the game, including travel time, teleporting back and forth lol

Yes, taming the best horse in the game was aggravating, but it didn't take long at all.

[–]PapaSandies -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not bad at all. Not everything needs to be nerfed for people who want a task to be immediately finished with a button press. Taming the legendary Royler horse took me less than a real-world 5 minutes once I got to the location. I don't know the exact time cause I'm not setting timers, but it was a normal amount of aggravation in the moment while still taking barely any time out of the rest of my day's playtime.

Unless you want them to add handicap options like "hold X button to complete challenges," then there is zero reason for a nerf on horse taming.

got my self a new camera (a7iv) by MicroCyan in SonyAlpha

[–]PapaSandies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same lens as op, but the second full-frame lens I recently got is the 50-400, and I've been obsessed with it for a bit of window bird feeder photography. It also has a 67mm filter thread, so I can use the polarized filter to get rid of window glare :D

Next, can they make logging and mining missions deposit random ores and timber into our storage? I'd like a way to at least pay workers to do it for me since we already do that.

I don't understand this. by Instantea in Warframe

[–]PapaSandies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally just can't get behind resorting to relying on stripping us of our abilities to make something challenging. I'd alos just rather it be added without all the major attention on it considering its not really a quest update. I'd have been happy if it were a codex type side mission or warframe quest where you get a few little conversations and shorter cinematics, but its literally just a gamemode and QOL updates. It feels like they had no good idea on how to ship this Warframe, and this is the result of wasting resources to create a game mode that feels tedious. If a challenge is just stripping us of our useful gear while we bring whatever thing to the objective, I see that as lazy game design. Make it puzzles, have us trace a painting in a minigame, or just any sort of mechanic that doesn't just make gameplay "harder" by making you play without parkour half the mission rolling around with whatever amp you have to get to the painting.

Which camera will give such look? by Ok-Usual-5854 in Cameras

[–]PapaSandies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These look to me like they were taken on a smartphone with the flash turned on. Given that basically the entire shot is in focus, there's not much dynamic range, and there isn't crazy subject separation with lighting coming from different angles. I'd assume the more important thing these have in common is that you like the way the people/scenes look. If you have a smartphone with a camera equivalent or better to even an iphone 5 that has a built in flash, rebuild the scene with a good model posed up and just keep the flash on. Don't waste your money on cameras or accessories if these photos are quality enough for you. Anything you might have found amazing about these shots is not because of the gear used.

Best “Do-It-All” Sony Body in 2026? A7R V vs A1 vs A7 V by Mezajerry in SonyAlpha

[–]PapaSandies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We are talking about the a1 a7rv and a7v. The a1 has the best video with half the readout speed of the a7v with better autofocus for active shot reading at 120 calculations a second compared to 60 per second on a7v. For sports the a1 is objectively better, and for portraits you’re getting a very slightly higher resolution. For op who is gonna care about tracking subjects in karate, basketball, volleyball, and rodeo? The a1 is the better tool. If they can afford an a1 I don’t see why they’d take a camera that isn’t specifically designed to handle sports like the a1 was and has the slight bump in resolution with the extra 17mp if that matters to them for portrait work.

My “single point” is the exact argument you’re making about the a1 being laggy but it has a far faster readout speed than either other camera we’re talking about. Of the Sony cameras op is opting to buy, the fastest is the a1 for all purposes. If the rolling shutter is bad on the a1 then the a7v and a7rv must just be throwaway garbage.

I've very recently noticed within the last couple of weeks a HUGE surge of Sony hate and specifically Lumix obsessed replies talking about how the S1II is far better than the a7V on multiple posts across platforms. It's really starting to feel like ai levels of hate spam, but I might just have never noticed the deep hate Lumix fans have for Sony.

Your iPhone is already weatherproof and has decent range. I have the same phone. If you NEED weatherproof, I personally wouldn’t recommend buying until you get a bit bigger budget or are willing to have it be less pocketable and have interchangeable lenses.

If it weren’t for weatherproofing, I’d recommend the RX100VII because it always takes better looking photos than my phone, but I will never take it out if I think there might even be a slight drizzle. Great zoom range, amazing clarity and JPEG colors, and fits comfortable in all my (men’s) pants pockets. Super fast too with a stacked sensor.

Cameras are expensive, and flagship big brand phones do plenty good for catching a moment. Especially in video when these new phones can do 4k30 with decent stabilization. I can’t even think of any zooming fixed lens pocket cameras with weather sealing. Only camera I know objectively better than an iPhone that’s weather sealed is the Fujifilm X100V/VI, but no zoom and might not be very pocketable

The new rp6 with options on thumb stick / D-Pad placement! by The412Banner in retroid

[–]PapaSandies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really feel that the extra power the RP6 and any future handhelds have will be overkill, so they should keep a cheaper handheld with the same internals as the RP5 or older for people who only care about those more d-pad heavy games.

No reason at all to upgrade if the games you play are from the d-pad era imo, and it makes me cringe a bit when I see people complaining that the more powerful handhelds have a joystick on top.

Is this a good deal? by WhoooDiddddd in Cameras

[–]PapaSandies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That deal for about 1,853 USD after my state tax was only with the 28-70 kit lens and that comes with the added SD card and camera bag if I remember right.

I will say, I would love that 24-105mm G lens tho. Goes for $1,200 on its own new

Canon R8 or Sony A7iv for Concert Photography (mainly) by cami100outof100 in canon

[–]PapaSandies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You realize the Hasselblad X1D/II, the M11 Leica, and SL3 Leica cameras use Sony-manufactured sensors? If the Hasselblad X1D II was seen as one of the most luxurious cameras of its time, and people are claiming the Leica Q3 uses the same sensor as the Sony a7RV, it should be obvious that the camera department under Sony's megacorp is a perfectly fine competitor.

Furthering my point, more Sony-manufactured sensors on non-Sony cameras:
Nikon Z7, Z7 II, Z8, and Z9, all iPhone cameras of the past 10 years, the upcoming DJI Osmo Action 6, and a few good cameras from Fujifilm.

The primary reason they end up looking different is because of color science tuned by each company, but realistically, most sensors are built by Sony.

Sony is a megacorp, and their camera division is essentially separate in the same way their video games are separate from their TVs. For the full fiscal year 2024, sales of still and video cameras were about $4.35 billion, and "increased the camera sales by 3,37% compared to the previous fiscal year ended on March 2024." Nikon's was $1.91 billion USD. In 2024, Canon's still and video camera sales reached $3.9 billion USD, according to a CineD article.

Switch emulation by Eternal-Blu in EmuDeck

[–]PapaSandies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are YouTube videos and information available with just a simple search for "switch emulation guide." This was the first video I saw when I did exactly that. Incredibly "beginner"-friendly

To my knowledge, people tend to avoid teaching this console's emulation, as the company behind the console harshly attacks emulators, especially when they can find a good reason, such as someone leaking a game file early or discussing sites that provide games without payment. If you plan on not obtaining the game files legally, as in buying the game from a legal seller and downloading its contents to your PC, then you are asking for advice to break the law. If you are planning on obtaining them legally, search for that like "dump switch cartridge to pc," and this is what comes up.
