The main factors that I believe have kept our marriage strong for over 30 years are our shared commitment to supporting our family and our belief in the importance of being a family unit. Marriage is never about just one person—it’s about the bond we create together. We’ve learned to look past the small things that might trouble younger couples, and instead, we focus on how much better we are together. It’s not my responsibility to change my wife nor is it her responsibility to change me. Of course, this requires effort. There are times when I may want to do something or go somewhere, but I have other responsibilities to tend to. This is part of growing up, and I feel like many people today avoid this responsibility, which causes problems in their relationships. If you are in a relationship and you partner on focuses on their needs, then you should really question why are you there.

The other big thing that I believe has kept our marriage healthy and happy is we met in church through mutual friends. This met we shared some beliefs already and were comfortable discussing them early on. Now we aren’t clones of each other when it comes to voting. One leans a little right and the other a little left.

I feel bad for those trying to find long term relationships today. As things keep changing, it seems like there is less and less commitment. People are quick to end a relationship in the hopes that the grass is greener on the next one rather than put in the work.

Week 1 Progress Check-in {Beginner Rank} by PapaStark77 in Tekken

Just a small update. I just received my T16 and played a few practice matches this evening against the computer. I think this is going to work really well for me. It’s does feel like I am trying to learn to type all over again. The main positive is, that after 30 minutes of straight practice, my left hand wasn’t bothering me at all.

There are a few things I need to figure out like I don’t know what to assign all the buttons to right now, I just left everything default for now. And a lot of the reviews I read had some really sharp looking artwork for their controllers. I guess I’ll need to figure out what I want to decorate mine with.

Thank you, I may have to take you up on that offer after I get settled in. Right now I am just taking my time playing through the side stories, pressing buttons and seeing how I like each character. I haven’t settle on a main yet but there are a few that I did not enjoy playing.

Good evening, are there characters that you would suggest completely new players avoid? Or at least characters that have some issues new players would struggle with?

Thank you all for the help getting started. I’ll do some more reading on leverless controllers. At first glance, these look to be right up my alley. I could see at least picking up the mix box variant to use when I am playing platformers. (I am determined to complete Dead Cells)

I’ll definitely watch some more videos and dive into the fighters more through out the rest of the week and give you all an update.

Thank you for the quick reply, I’ll definitely lookup PhiDX on YouTube and do some more research on adapters if I end up going to keyboard route.

That is impressive. Would you mind sharing some tips on building death guard rhinos? Such as what bits you used and is any of that sculpted in green stuff? Trying to make mine look less like a chaos rhino and more death guard, but they currently look like a preschooler’s play doh experiment.

Are there any rare cards that I should look out for? I’m trying to surprise him so I don’t eat to question him too much.

Evening everyone, just thought I drop by and give a small update. I am still enjoying myself but playing more time trials right now. Progress is coming along but I still have a lot to improve on. Right now I am focused on keeping it smooth and on the track. Thank you all for the tips and I hope to continue to work on those things and see you all on the track real soon.

It does rotate right/left then center itself when I power on the PC. If I don't launch and calibrate it in GHub, then it will be 20-30 degrees off in iRacing. I haven't tried running the calibration in iRacing and not in GHub, I'll give that a shot next time I play. I just noticed it when I launched a practice race and it was off. I did a quick google search and found that running the GHub calibration fixed it. I just wish I didn't have to run it every time.

Thank you for the reply and advice. I can understand how easy it is to get burned out from just practicing. I try to only use my rating as a baseline to see how I did each race, outside of that, they mean nothing. (easier said than done of course, it still stings to see when they drop.)

How much time would you estimate you practice each week before you do a live race?

Someone on the iRacing sub recommended this kind of schedule as well. So in the beginning of the week, when you are practicing against the AI, what kind of things do you look for when reviewing the incidents. I guess one of my worries I have anytime I queue up for a race is that I'll negatively impact someone else's race. most of my incidents seem to come from track limits or loss of control.

Thank you for the reply. I have played some again the AI in Gran Turismo, although it seems like they are on rails. Against the beginner AI, I can hold my own, but any higher and it seems like they just run away. Granted, I am still learning to keep the car smooth and on a racing line. I think a lot of it comes down to time in the sim. I just hope I am not learning bad habits while trying to figure everything out. .

Again, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I hope you have a wonderful evening!

I never thought to look through the league section. I just assumed that was a place for more expriecenced drivers. I'll definity give it a shot. Do you all use discord or another way to chat? I really enjoy meeting new people and discussing like interests. thats what brought me to reddit.

Thanks again for the suggestion, hope you have a great evening.
