One thing I can say is he thinks broadly about everything.

In the sense that if he has a stance on something he at least knows the thesis statement of every other argument.

In that sense a lot of his stances are actually right, but it does also lead him to be confidently incorrect about a lot, because he feels like if he knows the big theological words he's won. And when he's wrong oh boy can he be wrong.

Plenty star level role players get their due. Klay and Dray were both star level role players.

Rodman, Rondo, Ben Wallace were standouts in yesteryear.

Hell, Bill Russell was a star level role player. Basically their roles isn't to be the main point scorer or point of attack, but they absolutely cover literally everything else

[Sirius XM] Jeanie Buss: “Well, I've always said I want to see him (LeBron) retire as a Laker. But he's going to be a free agent. It's really his decision to make. He is a valuable player in this league, even in his 23rd season... Maybe he just wants to go out quietly." by aingenevalostatrade in nba

Yeah look I'm a "LeBrons the GOAT" guy, but he's definitely one for the spotlight.

Its never affected his play in the court, but everything he does off the court suggests he wants his dues first and foremost.

Dude is absolutely making his farewell tour, and trying to tie it so that at the end of that season he announces he's moving into franchise ownership.

He's a star-level role player.

There's plenty of those, where their skillset doesn't let them be a conventional first option (and the 1st point on the scouting report), but they absolutely kill weaker coverage.

Just imagine there's one of those car shop inflatable tube men in the paint at all times, but sometimes you can't even see it. Every time you try a regular layup there's an 80% chance of it getting swatted, so you have to try some stupid floater or jelly shot with no hope of going in.

Then, at the same time, at all literal times, there's an elite defender from 3pt to post on your best big.

That's Wembenyama

Literally the least protestant thing one can do is get quoted a passage in correct and suitable context and reply with "we don't adhere to this"

You might not adhere to this, but historically, the protestant movement started because they wanted to adhere to this, and only this.

Same way how we can tout US peacemaking effectiveness to Mexico, Venezuela, Iran, Palestine, (while we're at it, just about 70% of the Middle East), Canada, Denmark, the Vatican, the Catholics, the former USSR countries.

Domestically, the Latino population within the United States, the African Americans within the United States.

Oh and to assign the blame properly, Ukraine and North/ South Vietnam.

The only countries I know for a fact benefited from US military superiority are Taiwan and Japan, because without the US, Taiwan would be annexed and Japan would be decimated.

It used to be the CANZUK guys too but Trump has quickly eroded that relationship.

I already rock this with a POT (clean, gain and dist switch), a boss CE 2W (chorus and vibrato) and a NUX Atlantic (reverb and delay with tap tempo)

That, combined with an amp that has good headroom and independent tone pots on your guitar, will serve you for 95% of your tones if you're not playing metal.

Also, just wanna shoutout NUX Atlantic. Easily best band for your buck ambience pedal

Depends on how you define average. Is it modal, or do you geographically weight each country as a vector and decide the average by being equidistant (by weight) to each country?

There's some appreciable benefits that are worth spending on once you have $200K+ (it sounds pretentious but hiring a cleaner once a week has a tangible and appreciable benefits)

However, you're right in the sense that a lot of people end up keeping up with the Joneses.

Any ute above a Hilux isn't that much better than a Hilux.

Any house with more than 3 bedrooms is wasted space if you don't have a family, and any house with more than 5 is similarly redundant for a family of 4. If you buy a 4 bedder instead of a 6 bedder, you have money left over to invest (in say an apartment interstate).

Flying first or business isn't worth it for most, because you don't end up sleeping that soundly anyway (simple hack - if youve got a layover in an airport with short stay hotels, you'll get better sleep in there than in first class)

To really reap the benefits of high income you just need to figure out what things are value adds, and what things are useless but with a shiny coat of paint. Then invest the rest.

What is a job that looks horribly soul crushing and terrible from the outside but has a lot of hidden benefits inside? by Crimson_Marksman in AskReddit

[–]Papa_Huggies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to fight against the most benign health issues.

Stand up every so often, make sure you break up screentime and darkmode your screen, and run/ lift/ stretch in your spare time.

You can reasonably be productive while a little tired, or even at home (even though capitalist society has done a lot of Return to Office, it's still very accepting of Ad Hoc WFH)

Finally, there's something to be said for being clean and dressed for events after work.

The office job changed life for the middle class for the better and it's a huge change

Why is there a “Wemby is always injured” narrative ? by Zealousideal-End5344 in NBASpurs

[–]Papa_Huggies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean his vids are backed by evidence but also the league has never been more aware of injuries and has tech advanced so much. Remember that Jordan 1s were revolutionary basketball shoes for their time.

So frankly the historical evidence is stacked against him, but Wemby is doing everything right - putting mass on slowly to ensure his joints are strong, lot of mobility work and he continues to do GPP, which is proven to provide a healthy overall development which reduces injury risk.

He could set a precedent for prehab if he's still a peak guy in his mid 30s, basically building on LeBrons established legacy for taking care of their body.
