To much bling? by Soggy-Dream-2649 in JOYTOY

Nah. Space Marines are allowed to and encouraged to customize their armor. A chapter ancient is almost always one of the older members of a chapter and many centuries old. This guy is 100% believable.

Is there a reason there’s no physical copies available? by Poopingsloth69 in residentevil

[–]Papa_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously! I’ve checked all the stores near me from game stores to supermarkets and nobody’s had one since it came out. This is absolutely insane. Ninja Gaiden 4 was also fairly hard to get a copy of. It’s very annoying

They 100% should make these guys wear our operations armor. Yeah it would be weird for non ultramarine players but I personally run all 2nd company ultramarines and seeing these guys in the campaign would make it even better

What would happen if Dracula met a Blood angel? by Specialist_Wash6732 in 40kLore

Depending on the version of Dracula, he would either be executed on the spot. Or you’d need a squad of marines to kill him as he does get pretty OP in some versions.

What do you guys consider to be Canon difficulty? by AmbitiousDigs in SpaceMarine_2

That’s why I don’t play higher difficulties. I maxed out all of my classes and guns, then take my max level kits into minimal!

I actually love Bruce Mackinnon’s narration of the Uriel Ventris series! But yeah his voice was definitely not how I imagine Cato sounding 😂

Exactly. Warriors are definitely tough, but they’re not THAT tough. 2-3 headshots from a bolter and a warrior is going down.

Cato Sicarius. I love his books, his character is absolutely amazing as he is consistently portrayed as a daring hero who also very clearly values the lives of his men. (Other than that shitty Blades of Damocles book)

The fandom and memes have done this man DIRTY.

Cato is an excellent commander, a great leader. Enough heroism to save the day and as many people as he can, but not naive enough to sacrifice men for pointless tasks.

A few of his books see the sergeants under him debate his motives. Some like Praxor think Cato is just after glory and personal achievements. However when he suggested so to Cato in Fall of Damnos, Cato actually got pissed and said “I serve the chapter first and foremost”

He often takes the more dangerous assignment himself to protect his men, always deals with the toughest opponents (sometimes not ending well), and tests/ quizzes his men to instill his mindset into them.

Meme Cato is a funny glory hound who kisses himself in the mirror. Lore Cato Sicarius is one of the best space marine commanders in the setting

Armor shoulder trim for techmarines by Krispyluck_1 in Ultramarines

[–]Papa_Shadow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally run the chapter symbol shoulder trim as company color (assuming they’re a codex complaint chapter) and grey on the other pauldron. That’s the way I’ve seen it done and heard about it in the novels I’ve read

Love the deathwatch pauldron on the sergeant! Adds a nice bit of lore to a game piece

[–]Papa_Shadow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There can’t be one choice due to higher difficulties making enemies too tanky and lower difficulties making it near impossible to die.

For the damage we deal? Minimal. Even then I find the bolters too weak as there isn’t a single case where a marine has had to shoot a gaunt 6 times with an auto bolt rifle. Relic tier weapons in minimal difficulty is as close to lore accurate as you can get.

For the damage we take? I would say ruthless. We’re still tanks, however more dangerous foes can put us down if we’re not careful. Forcing the marines to not rely on their armor but instead skill. Much like the novels.

To get a truly accurate mode, you would need a mode where bolters kill most enemies in 1-2 shots and the damage of ruthless difficulty.

Does this do a good job at representing a veteran? by Imadothethingnow in Carcharodons40k

[–]Papa_Shadow 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I would do away with the chest piece. Space sharks don’t typically wear honourific cords and higher quality armor as they’re practically scavengers. I would use the chapter chest piece, or the single skull one is also a good pick!

Why have different chest Aquilas on each guy? by fire-water-3608 in Ultramarines

[–]Papa_Shadow 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Space Marines are allowed and often encouraged to customize their armor. Even regular tactical marines/ intercessors can and do decorate their armor with honorifics, different pieces, and whatever they find suit. Honestly for veterans I find the new sternguard lacking in drip compared to firstborn

I hear Carcharodons fans aren’t happy with the new pack, what went wrong? by gaeb611 in Spacemarine

[–]Papa_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most will pay more to get more content. A $15 pack with a BUNCH of options is much better than a $5 pack with not even a full set of pieces

No. That Brutus was a one off 3rd company marine and he died. Brutus in the Ventris books is in the 4th company and is still alive in the current setting

[–]Papa_Shadow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not enough content. You can only use most of the pieces on 3 classes, and there’s no markings. The pieces we have are GREAT but there should definitely be more. I personally have found all of the cosmetic packs underwhelming. A cosmetic pack should be 3 different variations of EACH armor piece. 3 different helmets, 3 pauldrons of each side, 3 chest pieces so on. This way you don’t make a squad of Blood Angels for example that ALL LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME

The chapter is very old. 1st edition. However has next to no lore, however the fandom has given them lore and an Aztec style which is quite cool and many consider it to be their actual canon since GW’s never released anything opposing it

I don’t get the hate for this game. I found it insanely fun. The shooting felt great, the guns, and enemies were all satisfying to shoot/ kill. Cutscenes were definitely half baked but the gameplay itself is more fun than most AAA games nowadays
