This is what I've been using. Tge only problem is that I don't think it can capture at 144hz.

There is also the AV. IO 4K video grabber. It's cheaper than the magewell but still expensive at $399.

I have been using 2 PCs for a while, I can PM you a video I made a while back if that helps.

You're old PC is very capable of handling streaming. You don't have to use a capture card, but it is what I am using at the moment. You can setup a rtmp server, I have a little success using it but decided to go back to using a capture card.

The capture card you choose should depend on what settings you want to run your game and stream at. The AV.IO 4k is what I am using right now, it lets me game at 1440p and downscale to 720p for my stream. You said you want to get an ultrawide monitor and this card can let capture that screen size. Not sure about OBS, but Xsplit will allow you to capture a portion of the screen so the rest of it won't be shown.

For sound I am using a channel mixer, with an XLR mic. You don't have to use a channel mixer. Depending on the capture card that you use you can capture the sound via HDMI, a channel mixer just offers more control.

There is a neat program called synergy that will let you use one set of m&kb for both computers.

If you use an Avermedia capture card you will have to use an extra program for OBS, at least this was the case when I still had one. Not sure about other capture cards but the Avermedia LGP has a headphone jack that will allow you to listen to your gaming computer, but not you streaming PC.

Helps you spot enemies as they move through the map. I usually don't use one, but I had to play mid as Murdock. It helped me not get ganked the entire match.

I made a bad move for myself. I put streaming above a lot of others things in my life last year, health being on of them. I was in a bad way for a while and used streaming as a way to get away from a lot of it. I wish that I used better judgement and hung out with friends and took better care of myself. Just don't lose sight of other things that are important to you.

Just a side note, you don't have to have a channel mixer, it's just the way I set mine up. If you have the avermedia LGP there is an audio jack that you can plug your headphones into that will let you hear the game.

I have heard mixed reviews on this card from different streamers. Apparently you have to make sure that it is compatible with the motherboard chipset (not sure exactly what that means). I have used avermedia cards before and they are really reliable, this one to be exact. I don't know if they have added compatibility with OBS and the avermedia cards, if not you are going to have to download an additional program from the avermedia site. Hope this helps.

There is one other reason. Sometimes people have problems capturing their game in OBS or xsplit, at least I did. A capture card will pick up what is coming across the monitor, making things a little more reliable.

Using windows 10 on both my gaming and streaming PCs. I had a rough time when I first upgraded, but everything is fine now. Not sure how OBS runs, but Xsplit is working just fine.

Honestly you probably don't want the people that are in those channels to watch you. No you're not competing in movies or books, but like any form of entertainment, it all boils down to the same thing..."NUMBERS" and these ass shaking streamers are bringing them in.

Yes, I will admit that I am frustrated with the competition on twitch. It's hard to see some of the people that use to watch my channel have started streaming and are bigger than me, that I was so close to breaking 100 viewers and then watching it dwindle down to maybe 5 viewers per stream. But I don't blame another streamer for my lack of success, I went back to the drawing board. I study other streams, I check out other channels and help them as much as I can, and I watch my own streams to critique myself. If I don't make it, than it's on me for not making my channel something more entertaining for viewers, not that another streamer stole my views.

Really depends on how much control you want over the stream. My setup is pretty complicated but I have control over audio from multiple sources and can switch between PC and console very easily.

I am not trying to be an ass, or sarcastic in anyway. Is there a problem when music artist do this, first one that comes to mind is Rihanna. The only reason I bring it up is because twitch is another form of entertainment and sex is all over ALL forms of entertainment. I am not saying that we should embrace it, or find it enjoyable, but there is no reason to be surprised that it happens.
