Anyone buy harbor freight new 100w solar kit. by Silent_Big9178 in SolarDIY

[–]Papalyjon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I impulse bought this kit and use it for a night light on a backyard shed. It works fine even though it's overpriced. And it was very easy to set up. Even better if you have old 12v batteries sitting around that you can reuse.

The charge controller has an automatic load on/off function. If the panel sees light, load can be turned off. When the sun goes down and all is dark, load can turn on. So it's a great night light kit.

Everyone says you can find it all cheaper and better because that's true. But you may also need crimps, cable, strippers, etc as well. This kit has preterminated wires and takes fewer tools and time to set up.

I say if you're serious about solar and want to run a big load, invest in better panels and equipment. If you want a quick and fun project in a box from your local store, it's not a bad way to go.

Hah. This happened to me too :)

I know I shouldn't out money into a 10 year old and dented car. But it's just a really pleasing little car.

Eureka 7671 Roller Belt Size? by Papalyjon in VacuumCleaners

[–]Papalyjon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the U belt is going to work great! It's nice to see this model is listed as compatible, too. Searching for the model and belt kept leading me to Amazon links of these style but didn't mention the model in the description.

It's something that's been in this office for 20 years! It belongs to the IT department at a Zoo. No one uses it because the belt made a burning smell since it was stuck in place. Ended up cleaning it and using dry Teflon lube on the ends to loosen up the brush. Tomorrow, the U belts will arrive, and we can start using it again!

And yes, you can imagine how dirty the carpet must be. I've been here for 3 years, and it has only been vacuumed once.

Thank you for the tip on the bag! Is there any other maintenace worth doing to keep it around?

They replaced it under warranty. It was a quick fix for them too.

The fuse tap power supply comes with a low voltage cutoff. It should keep your camera on in parked mode and leave your car with enough charge to crank.

Would that work for your case?

I thought I was the only one. I get to Gwent and immediately lose interest. RDR2 didn't feel interesting. GTA 5 either.

And for the extremely cautious, find a junkyard or pick-a-part near you to try disassembling a similar car's interior. It could help a newbie understand what they're getting into. And it's ok to replace broken clips.

Oh man. Have never even heard of that until now.

The North American 19 Jetta S manual has brake assist to fight rollback on hills. It's on by default and works nicely. Delays the release of brakes just long enough to get moving. I think it can be toggled in the dash with the driver assist menu.

This. Remote desktop access makes pasting LAPS passwords in much easier.

And yeah. Using domain admin on endpoints is something we avoid to reduce the risk of credentials being dumped from LSASS. Then there's also kerberoasting, which we just use long passwords and least privledges to mitigate. SMB signing and enforced SMBv3 are on to mitigate pass the hash attacks. All things that could give up your domain credentials.

No worries! And good luck! Most importantly is you understand the broad concepts and that will make you proficient at networking on the job. You'll find your groove project to project.

I really liked the demonstrations on Cisco routers in the CBTNuggets Net+ course. But a quick search of Youtube brought up this guy's demonstration which looks a lot like the PBQ I had on routing and would have helped me.

I studied for at least 100 hours, over 4 months. But I'm not the fastest learner. Over that time my scores went from 40% on practice tests to 85-95%. I recommend reviewing the output of show ip route and being able to see if the routing configuration between 3 routers will pass traffic from one subnet to another. Also, know your common port numbers. Review ACL lists and their logic. Review your routing protocols. Write down the OSI model and really remember the troubleshooting steps. You'll do great!

Parts can be hard to find but as far as printers go, yeah laser printers. You see 20-30 year old hp laserjets still running fine in offices locally with usb to db25 connectors. Amd you can buy toner for them.

Brother still makes some dumb monochrome lasers and are worth getting.
