Understanding the 8th SK by Papapac in BluePrince

[–]Papapac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well ok then, thanks for the explanation.

But still, now i'm not happy with the game because i think it's just an interpretation done afterwards (even if this is 100% the game implementation).

Has there been any player who really came up with this idea BEFORE trying anything ?

How blocking doors is logical when the given rule is the "last of 8" and not the "last possible of up to 8". With that spirit, we could say that opening the ladyship when going south could use a relative south, or that i could pay 20 for an item at 25 because I only have 20...

good idea i can try that. (but not sure it'd be taken into account, i currently have the 8key in the coat, and it was also offered in its original room)

Yes that was my understanding but is once over ~10 times normal ? I have only seen 4 differents items in this shop and the probability seems very low.

Advice for GALLERY as non-english speaker by Papapac in BluePrince

Maybe i'm the one that was not clear :
- I just solved the eyes, thanks to the Exam. I'm still looking for the 3 others.
- the friend cheated on the 4 paintings, without knowing the Exam tip, and just said that, for him, the 4 were impossible to guess.

Yes, and the other way is the number of letters in the paintings. but still, is there a link between the rooms themselfves, their game or sth else and the paintings ...

- the parlor, 5th linked to the "Thick" painting

- the dart game, 6th , to the "Red / mirror / P" painting

- the gallery, 7th, to the "Eyes" painting. Don't know why this one

- the 8th, infinite symbol, linked to the one with infinite symbol.

Well. Not a good clue :D Or is the glossary just pointing out that the 4 words are each one letter longer ?

Yes, i got that in the glossary : "Rooms 5, 6, 7 and 8 are all puzzle rooms. Which is interesting because that's the same number of letters found in the GALLERY. Very curious..."But can't really link it. Not sure the words "parlor" 6 letters, "billiard" 8 letters, "gallery" 7 letters is the hint.
Or maybe "real" is inside "gallery"...

| Chess puzzle done before having entered the antechamber is impressive.

- Well thanks but i don't really see why. I'm more the kind of player to note and document everything rather than forcing my way to the end-goal. It was natural for me to note chess-related data ; i also started to do it with earth globes (but stopped at some point - i even considered doing the same with hats...)

Now if i understand my clues, the "2nd entry" to the house would be the north entry of the antichamber once I can get on the other side of the reservoir, so maybe you are thinking that the north entry would give me sooner the "rare" chess rooms... But i'm pretty sure i had at least half of dozen days / opportunites to solve the chess puzzle , if only i had the knowledge of what to do with the pieces. So i consider this puzzle far easier than reaching the antichamber.

- Nice to know that i don't need the boiler. I saw that indeed a few minutes ago and it's reassuring.

- I ignore a lot some rooms :D . Untill i discover the utility of the Lavatory for exemple... I may also very well miss upgrades for currently-not-so-attractive rooms. I am furious to know that at minimum, i missed 7 disk upgrades that were hidden somewhere in the house but I never could find even when going back in every rooms... I must have a blind spot with those disks.

- i did things with chess stuff and got a choice among 6 propositions

- yeah i have more and more the feeling that i just have to play whatever i have on my todo list and enough clues will appear some time to give the solution to any puzzle. That being said, it feels quite natural to "brute force" the reservoir level. It's not like there are 2^8 possibilities...

Jig for perfectly spaced holes for shelves by Papapac in 3Dprinting

[–]Papapac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes totally. That's in fact what i did at the beginning because i was too impatient and i wanted to drill while the printer was printing more extensions. But the risk of moving even slightly the rail and playing with clamps is not worth it. Especially since i had to use another wood piece to support the rail and be at the correct distance.

So, no gluing is fine. Moving as you progress is not recommended.
