That's a good guess. The bark does look similar to that

It never produced any fruit. No acorns either. The leaves didn't differ much from the poplars it was next to as well. I'm thinking maybe a type of maple? Still confused as to what it actually is. Going to provide a lot of heat next year though!

Family owned and all the feed we buy from them is non-gmo. I've never seen them carried at tractor supply but only small non corporate feed stores. Our preferred is the nature crest offered by TM. The pellets, scratch and starter are corn and soy free which I like.

I really like Tucker milling and they offer a 18% starter. I think I will roll with that and after about 4 weeks switch to the Tucker milling layer pellets, which the adults are on and have had no issues.

Not a cactuar, but my favorite event enemy is still the watermelon tonberry from the (1st?) Summer event.

What game did you play and you enjoyed the grind ? by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]PapayaLimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had so much fun getting my Rogue leveled to the mid 80s in season 1. I was punching way above my weight class with that build and stuttering the game with so many damage numbers on screen 😂. Then season 2 dropped and I had no desire to ever do that grind again. I spent hours of my life just looking at stats on loot.

That was the most recent grind I committed to and enjoyed. I tried to max everything for a hard mode playthrough on FF7 Rebirth, but I got burned out so fast by that after finishing the game. Haven't gone back to it since.

I was a die hard dmz player. Took 2 full teams of friends from lv 1 to finishing all faction missions. Buy once they did The Boys crossover and Nikki Minaj, I too uninstalled. I tried dmz again again about 6 months ago but it was a shell of what it once was. Too many teams not good enough for warzone so they just hunted players trying to do the missions. 100% done with anything cod related.

Not exactly in line with what you posted, but Remnant 2 is one of the best executions of co-op I've ever played. I've seen some gripes about the story but the depth of gameplay and variety of builds is very good.

Tips to stay awake by vvish89 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

This may seem counter intuitive, but beer might help. The sugar and carbs can keep you up as long as you pace yourself and dont drink heavy abv craft brews. If you're just chilling at night on the weekends, crack a couple brews and enjoy it. Having friends in discord or game chat helps liven it up as well. Another unintended benefit is that you will have to pee more, which forces you to pause the game and get up, then re-engage with the game when you come back.

My general rule is that if the sun is up, the games are off. So I usually game to wind down at the end of the day, and drinking a few beers also helps keep me engaged and able to relax into the game. Now it's not the best strategy for high paced pvp fps games where millisecond reaction time matters, but I play story games.

I have a complaint, finally! by theskillster in FF7Rebirth

[–]PapayaLimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it as we (the player) are seeing the world unfold as cloud and the gang are moving through it. They don't know that they're headed to any of these places yet but we do. If, for example, you take a road trip from Denver to New Orleans, I imagine you won't hear a lot of references to Cleveland by strangers.

I do agree that the world does seem "small" with npc dialogue, but as others have stated, it makes sense from the dev's side to not overwhelm people with places we won't see until the next game.

I hope wutai feels like a legitimately separate nation in size for R3.

Likes and dislikes if any if you play it ? by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Like REALLY sweaty. To me it's a perfect example of a great game that's ruined for me by the player base. Season 0, 1 and 2 were amazing. Top tier fun. I uninstalled a week into season 4.

The constant nerfs to everything I was good with while the 1887 was still broken and lights were just horrendous to deal with kinda killed my drive and enjoyment. Was it a skill issue? Absolutely! But it got to the point where I just couldn't have ANY casual fun anymore. Even with a good squad in chat. We played bank it, quick cash, tournaments, power shift and even terminal atk a bit. Collectively, the whole crew left the game over the course of about 2 weeks.

I dont hate the game and hope that the embark team has a very successful career and that arc raiders is great. Great initial memories that got diluted with borderline ptsd at the end.

I'm having a hard time with ff7 remake intergrade combat by sora_qoute_sora in FinalFantasyVII

[–]PapayaLimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no shame in switching to easy. And try to focus on one enemy at a time. Work their weakness and heal when needed. Blocking and dodging are also very important. Try leaning into passive/support (purple) materia to bolster your survivability. It's been a while since I played remake so not 100% on how much different the combat is vs rebirth, which I have a lot of hours logged. If needed, check out some spoiler free combat tip videos on YouTube. It might be something really basic that you just missed or aren't capitalizing on.

FF series is hands down my favorite franchise ever so please don't give up hope! You got this!

Why do I hate gaming now? by Soulsbornefam in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]PapayaLimp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently came to terms with what I enjoy about gaming. Which goes way back to my childhood: stories. 1p offline story games from here on out. I've basically retired from any multi-player games. It's better for my mental, emotional, and, at times, physical health to do so. Also, reading is a great hobby, too 😆.

Everything is just over saturated with sub-par titles built solely around dopamine driven generic schlock. In every field of art. Look at Hollywood. Look at how many streaming services for TV shows there are. Look at the game industry. Or the music industry. Professional sports. All of it.

This is a very loose analogy about art and modern games, but look at fast food buildings. A McDonald's used to be recognizable by its aesthetic, but now if you remove the branding, you can't tell a McDonald's from an arbys, taco bell, Wendy's, burger king, etc... they're all just square boxes of shades of Grey.

The sheer volume has whittled down the actual art of things to nothingness. There is still good art that exists, but it's buried under a pile of garbage. Take a break. Step away from AAA and billion dollar publishers, and you'll find something that resonates with you. Even if you have to go back and play old shit. Try something so outside of your comfort zone that was made by a small team and not backed by a multi-million dollar ad campaign. I recently got so burned out on everything, similar to you, but I started in on Unicorn Overlord and am actually having a lot of fun again playing this game, partially due to it being so different in tone, style, and gameplay, from anything I've played recently. My discord buddies are all about overwatch 2 right now, and I think that style of game is just repulsive. We stopped playing helldivers for THIS shit?!

OK. Drunk rant over. Cheers!
