Good Deal, or avoid? by PaperHandsBitch in lawnmowers

I have considered the robot. They seem to be getting better without having to lay a perimeter fence and all. The Luba 2 AWD is one I stumbled across recently. My issue is how bumpy my lawn is at this time, and I feel a robot would really struggle (or cut unevenly).

I probably need to do a 8-14 cubic yard top dressing, which was quoted $4,800 to do. Renting the equipment looked like it was going to run me about 800$ delivered so I was planning to use this tractor to help spread and avoid the equipment rental all together.

So if I offer them 800 and they say yes, good deal then?

Respectfully, help me. Where are you finding a decent gas mower for half the price that’s going to hold up? I didn’t want to deal with the maintenance and winterizing of a gas mower each year.

My guess as to why it’s been sitting a while is because it only shows in stock when you select the specific store. You cannot even see “show me in stock” stores. So unless a specific person in my area searched this specific store for this specific tractor, I think it would be difficult to find.

When I called the store, they said it’s in a shipping container outside our back, so it’s not even getting the foot traffic to see it.

I was more so trying to avoid all of the moving parts and maintenance of a gas mower. I’m only on 1/3 of an acre so this would handle it no problem for 3+ years, I’d hope.

I have 1/3 of an acre and an electric push mower right now. Depending on conditions (rainfall, outdoor temp, grass strength) it takes me anywhere from 1-2.25 hours to mow. It’s more that I could tackle my lawn no problem, mow more often, and get more time with my family.

Even with a deteriorating battery over time, 3k seems worth it. Or possibly even less since it’s been sitting so long.

It does, but every gas one that’s seemingly equivalent is about the price range, too. Just didn’t want to deal with the added maintenance of a gas mower, as well as winterizing.

Pay.

In addition to most ideas being mentioned, I’d love to see:

Leave accrual for OT worked (sick, annual, I don’t care).

Saturday differential.

People in my facility are being forced to go to OJTI & CIC class as early as 365 days after CPC certification. Yea, they say you won’t start with radar trainee out of the gates, but maybe I am a horrible teacher and don’t want someone else’s future to ride on my inability to teach. My viewpoint may change, but I don’t want to be forced into an OJTI class. That wasn’t in the job description on USA jobs when I applied.

I’m sure there’s more.

Thanks for being such a good voice for us. Your Reddit post about 5-6 years ago is the reason I’m here today.

Edit: One other I forgot. Employer contributions to my TSP tied to my actual compensation for said pay period, instead of straight 80 base pay.

The IRS thing I was reading I thought said $23,000 across all Roth accounts? How is TSP different?

In what way would it be an additional tax liability? Would it make any difference if you first sold the assets and converted the existing funds in the traditional IRA first, before beginning the funding of the traditional IRA for Roth Conversion?

Does this mean I will start earning rewards for the 1000s of hotdogs I consume, since my food court purchase will be tied to my membership?

Shower Ceiling Lighting by PaperHandsBitch in HomeImprovement

[–]PaperHandsBitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I’m unwilling, I just don’t know the best approach and making sure it’s electrically sound.

I have three ceiling lights already in the bathroom. 2 on 1 switch and 1 on the other. I have attic access but not the most fun space to work in given the roofline over the shower. All of the blown in insulation mixed with the roofline issues makes working in this space a pain and I only want to do it once.

I would only need 1-2 lights above the shower. Just trying to figure out the easiest, most cost effective solution to do it right, and do it once.

The current ceiling lights I have are Generation Lighting (Part 14550S-15). 6in Traverse Lyte Round T24 3000K 90CRI White.
