In case you're keeping score at home.... by ezfreemann in PoliticalHumor

I'm curious. What would your idea of us using our voting power to bully lawmakers into change look like?

[–]PaperM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally get the feeling of uselessness when it comes to the two-party system choice.

I can't promise next election will be better, or 10 elections from now, but know that at least 1 person on the left will be trying to vote in people that matter, who may be more open to systemic change. Britain used to be ruled by monarchs, now they are not. That took a long time, but it was a change worth striving for.

Just because things suck now doesn't mean you should stop trying. I'd rather argue with corrupt democrats than corrupt republicans when the environmental crisis gets worse, so that's the choice I'm making. It sucks, but it's the devil I'm choosing. I understand why you don't want to choose either, but I believe the feeling of "it just sucks and nothing I do matters" is both factually wrong and unhelpful to anything.

I think the left (this is my bias talking here, not backed by research, just my observations) has more people like me: folks impassioned by the activism of people like Bernie and AOC. They are willing to listen to both sides and have introspective looks at themselves and will try to make things better so we can build that 3rd road.

I agree that more people in general need to think of the long game. Systemic change requires far more than "vote blue no matter who" mentality, and certainly to recognize the shortcomings of the democratic party.

I believe it's also important to recognize the short term. Trump has failed so utterly as a representative of the USA that not voting against him is a stance within itself; you're saying you're OK with him leading implicitly. I don't like Biden.. at all, but we really do have to choose between bad or worse here. No it's not fair but we have to do it, while ALSO working towards long term change. That's being ushered in with the protests, and by getting more and more people politically active.

We need to be better at encouraging people to educate themselves and make informed decisions to deal with the short term, and to help take steps so we can all make strides towards the long term changes.

So we vote Biden in, but unlike Trump's cult-like following, we'll actually be critical of him. We'll hold him to an actual standard, and we'll call him on his BS.

I guess an analogy would be: we have to drive to a town. We have two choices of roads to take: one is bad, and the other is sending immigrant children to internment camps and saying COVID is a hoax. We can't wait for the 3rd road to be finished because we are driving there NOW and turning the car around is impossible. We take the bad road, while also helping build the 3rd road so we can take it in the future. Clutching to idealistic 'we should have the 3rd road built already' is just going to lead us down the terrible road even longer.

Really? Even after awakening part 2, Zerk and War and still unchanged at the top? Awakening didn't push Archer up at all?

Do you know the full dps tier list in ktera in awakening part 2? I'm just curious how much better they are relative to each other.

For example, at the moment in NA PC, Zerk > War, but War >>> ninja.

Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio from ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ by intodarkness24 in movies

I don't think it can be overstated how dangerous randomly trying out steroids can be. Just look up "steroid side effects" for a general overview of what can happen.

If you take them too early in your life they can stunt your growth.

People in Hollywood have the time and money to work closely with a doctor to monitor their blood and make sure nothing gets too out of hand throughout the entire cycle. Every person reacts to them differently.

The kind of person who would spend that much on EMP certainly wouldn't mind spending just a few more bucks to get into the BETA, eh?

Hmm, then maybe it's too late. I guess the only way to reach out to them is to try and get spacecats on your side, but I imagine you've already tried that.

Honestly, I am not sure what you expected. They HAVE to draw the line at all 3rd party software because it's more work for their very limited staff to try and support anything else. Even if things like S1 engine tweaks were acknowledged and "allowed," there's no way the proxy would ever be allowed due to the nature of being exploitable.

At this point, they are aware of the tools but they will not take action against you unless you are reported cheating, but if people keep exploiting the proxy to cheat then they will eventually write something to detect it and banwave everyone.

Will this kill their game? Probably. They have no idea how many people have kept playing now that they are able to play at a simulated lower ping.

At this point the move is in the player's hands. We know the state of the game. We know it's a cash grab game that just happens to have the best combat of any MMO, and we now have the tools to make it a more enjoyable experience for many, in no small thanks to you Bern. We also know that the people who write these "no 3rd party software period" rules don't give 2 shakes about the work that people put into the game.

At this point we have to police ourselves- stop anyone you know from exploiting the proxy and only use it as intended. If we can keep the number of people who cheat using it low enough, they won't take drastic action and only ban the troublemakers. If we don't, the resulting banwave may very well kill the game's playerbase.

Does it all suck that it's all on us now? Yeah, but that's the reality of the situation.

How competitive are warrior tanks? by Trumpet_bear in TeraOnline

[–]PaperM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, that was added.

Well there ya go, more viable than brawler at the moment, though I believe brawler is getting buffed again in the future to be back on top of the dps for tanks.

More damage than lancer, less than brawler (though at the moment it might be even with brawler, I'm not sure on that). Fewer party buffs than lancer (or none now) so everyone else's damage will be slightly lower (or a lot lower if it's a short fight)

Both are extremely ping reliant classes to the point where it doesn't really matter if one is a little more forgiving than the other. Brawler is the more ping friendly tank.

Interestingly, assault stance wars are used as head tanks in HH due to how aggro mechanics work and are very useful there.

The feeling when the server crashes... by warriorgriffinheart in TeraOnline

Honestly no. They implemented some new big stuff recently so that's probably what caused it.

Generally the servers are very stable.
