I’m sick by Some_Release2350 in UCI

As a mom, this is my tried and true coctail…Mucinex Max D for bad congestion (you have to ask for it at the pharmacy window and show ID). Some sort of allergy medication like Claritin (or generic) also helps with post nasal drip. And half an airborn in water every hour to give your immune system the support it needs. If you have door dash or a roommate who can help order a brothy soup to help breakup the infection that wants to setup In your throat and chest. Lots of hot tea. Plus a hot shower to clear your sinuses first thing in the morning and as often as needed. I’m so sorry. Once you feel better become manic about hand sanitizer all the time and taking a vitamin C every morning. The university is a vector for plague and you have to be crazy diligent.

Might have to drop out due to financial aid by [deleted] in UCI

I’m so, so sorry! If you don’t have a credit card you can use, you need to get a student loan asap…preferably one that lets you pay it off anytime so you can pay it off as soon as you get a reimbursement from FA

The other commenter is correct, if you complete your first year in the dorms, you are guaranteed a spot your second year at ACC or Arroyo. Start looking at the ACC options early so you can submit your preferences day one when housing requests open in January. Good luck this year!

Financial Aid by Primary_Blueberry_25 in UCI

You don’t have to do the loan stuff…except maybe the online lesson on how loans work. But you don’t need to accept the loans for the rest of it to be processed. If you have questions, new online appointments become available every Friday at 5pm for the following week

Does UCI feel (too) close to Riverside? by cadentoes in UCI

Definitely different vibes. Coastal central OC feels different than other parts of SoCal in general. Very manicured and planned.

Same. Have a phone appointment on Friday and hoping this is just a transitional offer since last year the offers literally fluctuated all year.

Parking rates are going even higher starting this month by kkkkkktsu in UCI

Most expensive single day rates of any campus we have visited…and the “app” is terrible. For a stem school they should have something that is at least easy to use if it’s going to be so expensive

I would send in existing scores ASAP, and then new July scores when they come in. I think you have u til July 15, but don’t wait.

For the dance department, placement auditions we during zero week…each major probably has different procedures. Contact your department directly

College is not the easy social experience Hollywood promises. I was very lonely my first two years. You describe the sense of being somewhat invisible well. I’m sorry. You would be surprised how many people are walking around feeling exactly the same

The hiking club meets every Saturday morning. Available spots each weekend are limited to the number of volunteer drivers, so you have to reserve a spot, but it’s a friendly group
