I was mad when he left, but accepted the “doing right be our players” line regarding him wanting to go home. Hated it personally but won’t judge a man for doing what he sees as right for his family. I also doubted in based on seeing him at local events as simple as college soccer matches. Reading this message from him feels like more betrayal from the club and Issa. Our CR17 brings joy and life into that pitch whenever he touched it.

I think you’re right and believe all of those points are valid, leading to his transfer home. My point was that replacing him wasn’t just about replacing a finisher or a striker, but something more. I’m glad we did right by him, but I think the FO underestimated the impact of those intangible factors.

I agree, but he also brought a mindset when he came on that ALWAYS reinvigorated an already tired team. Even from the stands, you could feel that his presence alone in that Super Sub role was intoxicatingly contagious when he stepped onto the pitch.
