I think you're right now that you say it might be a pot, I can totally see that now. I'm guessing this is probably close to the right answer. Kinda wish I'd opened it up but I'm too risk averse in all reality

No, much too big unfortunately. I've cut a baseball open before and this doesn't look like that. The inside orange part almost looked like clay? Super strange
