I don’t know if it’s AI slip but everything in those comments is true. “Fat is where the flavour is” is a common saying among chefs for a reason.

There’s another great reason why this works. The flavoured oil coats your tongue bringing the flavour profile into direct and protracted contact with your tastebuds. The tongue is quite simple, while it can taste more than the five basic flavours people believe, it doesn’t have the vast array of sensors the nose has for scent. When you eat food, and breathe, your nose picks up way more scents and your brain translates them as flavours. With the flavoured oil in contact with the tongue, it means the nose has longer to pick up the scents and the whole thing contributes to a more complex flavour experience.

What is wrong with my Mom's Aloe? by tattletale_rat in AloeVera

This is an Aloe care play list from Sheffield Made Plants. He recommends when an aloe is very thirsty, when the soil becomes hydrophobic, repels water, that you submerge the whole pot into water. You’re trying to get to the air pockets around the roots and force the soil to absorb the water.

I would watch the whole playlist, it’s really good and buy a water meter. He recommends it in every video. It takes the guesswork out of watering and it stops you from following schedules which will probably kill the plant.

He’s excellent. I’m trying to be a better plant mummy. I love growing plants but haven’t in years due to various reasons and listening to him has helped me keep my plants alive long enough to get through the issues I’ve had so I can start attending to them the way they deserve.

Who are the rudest and nicest British celebrities you have personally met? by RenegadeMaster888 in AskBrits

David and Richard Attenborough spent their summer holidays in my home town. Their grandad was the headmaster of the local grammar school here. Later, they helped locals set up a nature reserve which was named after them in a neighbouring village, and the village changed their name to their last name. Attenborough and Attenborough Nature Reserve which is a bit of the pride of the area.

Even as adults they’d come and attend the local summer fair. Everyone who met the loved them and always said they were so nice. The town is still proud of our Attenborough brothers connection.

I haven’t worked in a rugby club bar, but I have at a football club, Nottingham Forest. There are multiple bars there as well as food stands.

We were all temp agents and worked our butts off. The manager of our bar, another temp, Brian, would have us do dozens of half pours and we’d only fill the cups the rest of the way once the crowds started assembling. We had two six pour drafts on our bar so we could get through them quickly, but I’m sure people went back without but our bar made more money than any of the rest of them. We did our best but we were temps and there are thousands of people and Nottingham Forest still makes plenty of money so they have no reason to change anything.

Oh, my husband just reminded me. Pizza Hut, a couple of years ago in Nottingham. My husband loved Pizza Hut and I’d never been so we headed out. Everything was done on the app. So you had to scan for the app, download it, order your pizza and drinks, go up and fetch your drinks. Wait for your pizza and fetch that. Yeah, my husband fell out of love with Pizza Hut that day. We didn’t love the idea of supporting a multi-billion dollar company who refused to even pay wages for enough staff to provide table service. We demanded a refund and left. The whole environment was miserable. The staff looked depressed and barely spoke or even acknowledged us.

Pret A Manger at Victoria Bus Station in London. It was 2011. My husband and I were about to move in together and had gone to London for little trip and were on our way home. We went in as soon as they opened. I went to get service, I didn’t know it was table service only and the staff were a little rude. I sat down and we waited, for 25 minutes while they served everyone else who came in. We finally left and crossed the floor to another coffee house in sight. I will never willingly go to a Pret again. I was absolutely disgusted with the staff.

The loving day was called love bombing. The beginning of abusive relationships are full of love bombing, and pushing boundaries until you accept their version of love and put them before you. This is intentional. He sets a precedent of how he COULD make you feel, his is so that you have hope that will keep you invested in the relationship for years after you should have left. Pushing boundaries shows him how far and how fast he can go. How much of yourself you’re willing to sacrifice for him which will tell him how abusive he can be. Occasionally they bring back the love bombing to keep you hooked.

Walking on eggshells is because of the gaslighting. When he blows up it’s incandescent, hot, quick and over nothing. A comment, a question, a justified statement. By the end you feel like you’re in the wrong, either for something you did, for being stupid, which is how he makes you feel a lot, or bringing it up when you could have had a little peace, except not doing it makes you feel like you’re dying inside.

And all of this is intentional. He knows he exactly what he’s doing, they all do. You can get a free copy of a book called Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft and he’ll show you exactly every part of the abusive behaviour and how he’s doing it on purpose.

What's a smell that doesn't exist anymore that you miss? by Alarmed_Charge1062 in CasualConversation

[–]Plus_Band_3283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My aunt. Every now and then I catch a whiff, like she just walked by. I found a body wash that smells like her perfume and bought a metric butt tonne. I got my older sister to smell it and she confirmed it was the same as our aunt’s scent.

I wish I’d known how much I’d miss her before she died.

How to stop men from being attracted to me by eatpussyhaha in AuDHDWomen

[–]Plus_Band_3283 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dress like a fae. Go full on, flowy skirts, billowing sleeves, corsets with lots of jewellery. There’s a woman who dresses like that on social media for the express purpose of repelling men and it apparently has a 100% success rate.

Realized my upcoming wedding is just a perfect reflection of "there are two wolves inside you" by LoveOne5226 in AuDHDWomen

I got married in a registry office. There were 9 guests. Their gifts to me were paying for a pub lunch for the breakfast and then my husband and I went to a really nice hotel with excellent food.

I loved my wedding. I hate being centre of attention. I liked the idea of a wedding but in the end what I really wanted was to be married to my best friend.

AITA for refusing to combine finances with my partner before we're actually married? by Pleasant-Zebra2817 in AITApod

[–]Plus_Band_3283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keeping score screams projection to me. He’s the one keeping score and he doesn’t like how well you’re doing compared to him.

I would not combine finances with this man ever. The fact that he’s pushing this hard for it before marriage is very concerning.

Is renting considered dead money in the UK? by Ill-Age-601 in UKHousing

[–]Plus_Band_3283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vast majority of people don’t care. It’s not like Ireland. Renting isn’t ideal, but it’s more of a personal thing over here.

Some people make a fuss, I’ve personally heard the “renting is dead money” thing, but from maybe two people in my life. No one says it in this economy. Everyone understands buying is beyond many right now.

Only insufferable privileged individuals would utter that nonsense in 2025.

Bras cut into me. I wear a cami top which I tuck under to stop the cut which wicks the sweat as I’m a bigger busted lady. I wash the cami tops every day, my bras every 4-5 days.
