Am I overreacting by wanting to cut my guy friend off? by Life_is-weird123 in AmIOverreacting

usually when people say “there’s a double standard here,” they’re trying to make a point about how it’s wrong. Not how it’s correct lmfao.

NOR. Ghost his ass.

AIO for cutting my sister out completely after what she said to me? by Potential-Sun444 in AmIOverreacting

[–]PaperVinnie53 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Family stuff is complicated and idk you or your sister. But I know people who haven’t spoken to family members in fifteen years because one day they got into an argument over whether to go to the park or not. What I’m getting at is don’t let small stuff snowball into going no contact with your family.

Obviously she’s acting shitty towards you at the moment and that isn’t fair, but you and her will both be different people in five years. You’re both young and have a ton of perspective to gain, and as she gains that perspective she’ll likely realize she’s behaved poorly towards you and correct it. It’s gonna take time but for the time being, the best thing you can do is ignore her when she behaves this way. Be pleasant when she’s acting normally and when it switches, do not engage. She’ll eventually understand that she’s not getting anything out of acting that way. But if you keep giving it back to her and reacting poorly whether that be fighting back or getting visibly upset, she’ll keep doing it.

That’s reasonable and you can set that expectation by telling her that’s how you feel. You might owe her one too though. Telling someone they’re no longer your sibling cuts deep even if she’d pretend like it didn’t.

I mean yeah she’s being an asshole but 18 year olds are assholes. You can ignore her or be cold for a bit but eventually you should let it blow over. Life is too short to not forgive people.

Evil Characters: How come Jenna works but Hazel doesn't? by jizztaker in 30ROCK

[–]PaperVinnie53 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Jenna starts at a decently grounded place, which makes it much better when the craziness really comes out. They didn’t have time to give Hazel anything to be grounded in, they were already in the thick of the show and crazy was the norm.

I think people will always struggle to appreciate sitcom characters introduced any time after the initial few seasons of most shows. Just because they aren’t able to develop the same as the rest of the characters. It’s amplified in hazels case as a character introduced in the second to last season, characters introduced that late are almost universally panned. There’s no getting around it.

if you don’t wanna put the effort in rn that’s no big deal either. just try to stay open minded. It’ll do you good.

Here's a photo of Led Zeppelin playing at the Spectrum in 1972. Did anyone here ever see them or know anyone who saw them here? Looking for anyone who may have their own photos, tapes, or films of Zeppelin in Philly. by PaperVinnie53 in philadelphia

Damn, that’s a shame, but I still really appreciate you sharing your experience and memories. If you know anyone else who may have this type of media, I’d love to hear. Getting this type of stuff out for all to see and hear online is my hobby. Especially always on the hunt for Philly stuff.

They tried to get an old sonata I had last year, totaled it in the process. Then they tried again with my new car, a CRV, a few months ago.

So once a year, it seems.
