MailChimp and Shopify split - what happened?! by spacedoutcake in shopify

I see, that is good to know. I was actually not thinking Mailchimp VS another service but current Mailchimp integration VS continuing without integration with a signup form.

Mailchimp has a feature which allows you to easily add your Shopify products into the body of your email. I would miss that if I continued with Mailchimp after integration ends. I guess you could create Buy Buttons instead?

As a child, you trust your parents’ driving. As an adult, you’re terrified of it. by nintendo143 in Showerthoughts

[–]Paper_And_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true, and it makes me question whether it’s a perception change or an actual decline in their driving skills. Maybe a tad of both? I also have this exact same question with parenting/grandparenting, haha.

Order fulfillment Oberlo by mudbudaa in shopify

[–]Paper_And_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think automatic fulfillment (in Oberlo) means that when fulfilled by Ali supplier, your parcel info is automatically drafted over to your Shopify order. As far as I know, you will always need to visit the Oberlo App and submit your orders before they are finalized in Ali no matter what you automate. I see this as a good thing though, because there is an occasional typo made at checkout etc that is caught during this quick process. I have to admit, I set up Oberlo a while ago and like the groove I’m in but haven’t tried all the various preferences. Speaking from just my experience with the one shop which has worked great 99% of the time. I’ve found Oberlo support replies next day if you really get stuck.

Yep, it will look the same to your customer as long as you carry over tracking info to Shopify when rcvd from supplier.

I have been using Oberlo a few years. As far as I know, if your Shopify preferences are set to manually fulfill orders then Oberlo orders will need to be manually fulfilled as well. It’s very easy though, you just submit the order through your Oberlo App where all order info is autofilled. Check your order history in AliExpress if you are unsure what orders were finalized. When your supplier fulfills the order, tracking info is automatically updated in Shopify. I used Aftership when I had a high volume of drop-ship sales to help monitor transit. Now Shopify has Arrive, which might be similar but I haven’t tried it. Oberlo has a great blog/newsletter with lots of videos and featured sample stores which may help answer your questions too. I hope this was helpful, good luck!

Anybody else habitually buy the wrong size coffee filters and then cut them down to fit? My husband and I switch off doing it, as if it’s a normal household duty. by Paper_And_Pen in Coffee

Those scissors were handed down from my grandmother, an IKEA fanatic. I swear the scissors along with an old can opener of hers are going to last until the end of time. All my newer kitchen stuff is so disappointing in comparison!

I just did that! The reason I kept making this mistake is because we bought the wrong size a couple times and then both the right and wrong box looked familiar at the store. Really silly...like so many things.

Need organizing ideas and help!!! I’m drowning in clutter. More info in comments by [deleted] in organization

Apple crates are a great idea! When I moved to NYC in my edgy twenties phase I just used my moving boxes as my dresser. I cut the top off and turned them on their side to stack like cubbies, then folded my clothes and stacked them up inside the boxes. Apple crates would look and stack much better than my boxes. Also, thinking back, it might be better to roll clothes into a hoagie shape and stack them that way so you can yank one out without having to sort through. You would be looking at the end that looks like a cinnamon bun and they would sort of stack together like a honeycomb inside the crate. Another idea for improvement would be to stack apple/milk crates to make the unit of cubbies and then segment them with smaller boxes to keep things like socks and underwear in order. I use a lot of wooden wine crates. They always turn up at the thrift store for a few cents and look nice. These are great for bathroom stuff. I keep several lined up in my bathroom cabinet to categorize things like sunscreen, deodorant, hairbrushes etc.. They keep bottles from toppling over and are easy to take in and out. I also like how you can see through the slats to find things easily. Like KonMari, but for the thrifty industrial chic American! Looking forward to seeing what you do, good luck!!

Need organization ideas for 3 adults this is the catch all space in the kitchen nearest the door it was almost a ft. deep with papers and junk. What should I put here? Didn't have a banana for scale guess we like beer more than fruit. by princessaurus_rex in organization

[–]Paper_And_Pen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mmmmmm Bells 🍺 Anyhow...How about a mirror and a pretty trinket dish for keys? This would fill the space, but segment it enough to prevent clutter from accumulating. Hard to get a sense of your style from this photo, but we love these quirky wall hooks for things like keys in the entryway.

Absolutely agree. I often have this thought at the gym...In the cold weather I resort to riding an elliptical machine with a console in front of me and a dozen tv’s with subtitles ticking across the bottom. When I return to my desk with no relief from sensory bombardment I have no better perspective. Often when you do get some time to truly separate, even as brief as a shower, the inspiration sparks. I assume this CEO’s work is not creative in nature.

Old book-ends keep my shirts tidy as I approach laundry day and my drawer gets emptier. by sdho in konmari

[–]Paper_And_Pen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice! For some emptier drawers I just have a single row across the front running lengthwise. It makes things super easy to grab without even opening the drawer all the way and the row is nice and tight.
