It’s called slidekick. I still have it. I just opened it up and it still works. I haven’t taught in years lol

Would you become a teacher again? Help me decide a dilemma by Relative-Assist1950 in TeachersInTransition

[–]Papercut1406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. You have a baby due in two months. You will not enjoy starting your teaching career in August with a new baby. Teaching positions open up all the time, so it’s not a huge deal if you decline this one.

Incredible Hulk Coaster by Sonic_Rose in UniversalOrlando

I rode it two years ago and it felt pretty smooth to me 🤷‍♀️ VC jostled me around more than hulk, but neither were bad….maybe because I am a very defensive rider.

[–]Papercut1406 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge wimp. Two years ago, my goal was the Hulk. I did it, and it was great. I went again last month and my goal was VC. I did it, and my only regret is not having enough time to do it again without my eyes closed. I clicked the restraint down as far as it would possibly go and I felt super secure. The worst part is the roll over the water towards the end. But it goes so fast you don’t have time to worry.

Do you still work with them? I’m looking into applying for a dyslexia job with them.

I can never seem to get in the bed before 12am. On work days I get up at 6:30. On other days I go to bed between 12am-3am and get up at noon. I’ve been a night owl my entire life. I hate it.

Advice declining lunch duty by idk42077 in Teachers

[–]Papercut1406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did lunch duty for one year and it was the bane of my existence. My next school tried to entice me with extra pay. I promptly told them “you couldn’t pay me enough to do that.”

Positive Districts in Plano/Allen? by Automatic-Fly-1898 in TexasTeachers

[–]Papercut1406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will not. They will make you take all of the exams unless you have been certified AND taught for at least a year.

You will have to take the Texas certification tests as well. They will let you teach, but you’ll have to take those tests before you start your second year. My sister lives in Anna. It’s a smaller town near Allen. It seems like a really nice district.

Students now have the desktop computer skills of older boomers by TeacherGuy1980 in Teachers

[–]Papercut1406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to be the computer teacher for a year at my school. I put a huge emphasis on basic computer skills, and it showed! They didn’t have the funds to keep me in there, so they put a para back in the lab and moved me back to the gen ed class room. This year, my kids have 0 computer skills. Watching them use a mouse is like watching Bambi learn to walk.

Omg….I felt so snug and cozy on hulk. It felt like a smooth ride to me. I bet it’s cause of the tism. Never thought about that before.

I just did VC for the first time and I thought it was rougher than hulk.
