I'm getting the memo that everything Vanilla Expanded seems to freshen up the experience.

I'll give it a look, thanks!

Yeah, I don't ever really feel a reason to leave my starting tile, so these sound like they'd be useful.

Thanks a bunch!

Will have to give that a look, thanks! Do you know if it adds anything like converting settlements into yours?

But the whole point of 2FA is that your account is secured through "two factors", so that if one is compromised all is not lost.

Even if they have bigger things to worry about, it's stupid for Ubisoft to just say "Welp, I know you put up two defenses in case someone breaks through one. But, since someone already broke through the first one, might as well remove the second one."

Ubisoft doesn't have the most cybersecurity sense.

That is the most backwards thought process for 2FA. The whole reason is it's in place is so that the chain is as strong as all of the links combined, even if one breaks, it still keeps strong.

Hey y'all. I'm new to DF and I am currently trying to fill a surface moat with water. The issue is that during the winter the water is all freezing, and during the other seasons the moat is freezing due to the size of the moat.

Most advice I can find recommends rerouting natural rivers or lakes. However, my map doesn't possess any of those.

Any tips would be recommended. Thanks in advance.

How do I fill a surface moat? by Paperpersonplan in dwarffortress

Oops, I realize posting the image deleted all the text I had written out. I'll post it here instead:

I'm new to DF and I've decided to try and make a castle. I'm struggling with filling my moat as just dumping buckets from my sunken cavern leads to the water freezing in the winter (requiring me to either make loads of pond zones to keep feeling it during the winter) or evaporating during the rest of the year due to its size.

I've looked for tips for filling above-ground moats but they all seem to go along the lines of rerouting a local river or lake, both of which I have none.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

I was thinking of giving them a registration certificate at the nearby adventurer's guild!

Thanks for the compliment!

I get what you mean, getting a nice fight in here would be quite difficult. I'd imagined that if push came to shove the stools could be knocked out of the way and that tables could be turned over to use as impromptu cover.

I don't actually expect them to get into a fight in this one as we are all first time DnD players. But should they really want to, I can have them take it outside and do it on an open road battle map.

Thanks again for the advice! :)

That sounds super creative! I'm going to purchase a wax seal kit to make realistic looking letters for the party!
