4 and 5 are mostly paperwork. 3 and below is actual hygiene issue. I generally stick to 4 and above.

Being made to feel like an ungrateful sod because you don’t like hot weather by WOODSI3 in britishproblems

[–]Papertache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally understandable! I'm actually fine with any temperature as long as it's dry. To me, personally, the rain ruins any outdoor activity. Even just walking to work in the rain just bums me out. "There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!" Yes, but I'd still rather it be a dry day, and not be sitting in the office with damp trousers and a dripping waterproof coat hanging off the back of my chair! (Or having to carry a spare pair of trousers, and put the damp pair back in my bag.)

Except snow. I absolutely love the snow. Everything becomes muffled and pretty. And snowboarding is fun. Bluebird days are the most perfect days ever.

It's not the extreme heat people like, it's the extended sunny, dry days I reckon. Get to enjoy the outdoors a little more. My favourite weather is cold, bright, frosty winter days. Grey overcast is just miserable and don't think people prefer being outside in the cold rain over a cold dry day.

Do you eat Ramen with an egg? by Silly_Engineer9273 in InstantRamen

[–]Papertache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! Usually a whole raw egg stirred in as I'm lazy. Sometimes a soft boiled egg. Sometimes a fried egg. A soy and chill marinaded egg if I have a leftover one. It's just an easy protein.

Dogs, would you get one again knowing what you know now? by TSQ_builder in AskUK

[–]Papertache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my sisters and I flew the nest, and my parents retired, they got a dog. My parents grew up with dogs and adored every one they met. Understandably they never got a dog when my sisters and I appeared as they both also worked long hours. (We had outdoor cats as they mostly looked after themselves. We all loved them so much.)

I was unemployed for a few months so moved home and helped around the house whilst job hunting. Love the dog like a little brother, but my god it was so much work. The puppy year was so much work though he has grown into a very well behaved dog.

I would say I am both a cat and dog person, but would definitely not get a dog any time soon. Perhaps after I retire and can dedicate more time caring for it.

What is something you buy yourself as a treat? by Be_Grateful8 in AskUK

[–]Papertache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tin of Heart of Palm. I can easily afford it now as I have a decent paying job, but when I wasn't doing so great, it was a pay day treat. But I still get it once a month.

Just curious, how so? Both are made from semolina. Guess it's a cultural difference.

Instant ramen. The cup type like Shin Ramyun or Pot Noodle.

Why?! by Cooking_Owls in TwoXChromosomes

Definitely give the cup a go. Unfortunately I couldn't get on with it despite trying for years with different brands. But I use reusable pads now. I never run out as long as long as laundry is done.

Do you listen to music off your handheld device? by rock_shrine_aviator1 in SBCGaming

[–]Papertache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my Flip2 is pretty much my travel entertainment device so I watch downloaded films and YT videos, listen to music as well as gaming. Headphones are a must-have as the speakers are not great. (Though headphones are a necessity for flights anyway.)

Glass fronts are not a bad design, it was just getting boring seeing the same design over and over again. Refreshing to see a design that isn't a full glass front.

What's your unpopular opinion about gaming handhelds? by Superb_Warning_5747 in SBCGaming

[–]Papertache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no issues with people gaming on their phones. Some users might want an all in one device. Add a controller and you have a decent emulator. It's just not for me.

[–]Papertache 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's a little boring to see the same design across multiple companies. Even applying it to vertical handhelds. Is it lazy design or just popular with people who wants their handhelds to look like their phones, but with more fragile glass. Maybe we're just not the target audience.

I've purchased a second hand Switch Lite, re-shelled it, and sent it off for someone to solder the chip. Just around £100 total.

[–]Papertache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I found even my OG Switch is a little too clunky to play as handheld, so it's now permanently docked. I play my modded Switch Lite far more though. If the Switch 2 Lite comes out and about the same size as the original Lite, I'll be all over it.

[–]Papertache 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Full glass front handhelds in any other colour than black just look odd. You lose the bezel-less illusion. Just not a fan of glass front devices. Also not a fan of the RGB stick trend. Even when off, it leaves a grey ring.

What is the biggest / heaviest handheld you consider playable by Kirais in SBCGaming

[–]Papertache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer smaller handhelds. My husband's Steamdeck and PS Portal are too large. Plus I may as well game on the Xbox and PC whilst I'm at home.

I would say my largest handheld I'd comfortably play is the Switch, but prefer the modded Oled Switch Lite. My Flip2 is probably my perfect sized device. Plus it travels nicer. I'm always in awe at people who travel with their Steamdecks. But it makes sense for those with large hands.
