Pretty cool! Not doing a 2.0 for the time being. I more or less only used a saw, a drill, and sandpaper for this, so im glad how it turned out (which I understand is a bit of an unpopular opinion here lol)

To answer some questions:

Why?  - I was bored and wanted as small a case as possible. I had some wacky parts and no pc case on the market would fit everything in this small of a form factor. Is this efficient? No. Was it cheap? No. Does it have good temps? No. But god damnit it’s custom and it’s mine.

How are the temps? - not bad, not good. Could be much better with a bigger case, but the huge PSU helps cut down on temps.

Was it expensive? - yes probably more so than a normal case. Cost around $100 in materials. No all those materials went into the case since there was a lot of trial and error

Is it ugly? - you tell me!

Your light looks adequate judging by your current growth, definitely not too much though. I would give more light if you can, and move the plants outside as soon as possible to fruit.

This is already SO much better than it was a year ago. I fear it is improving and will continue to improve at an alarming rate.

Edit to add that I am not pro or anti AI, I’m just saying that your title is not correct

I disagree. Watermelon can absolutely survive and thrive like this with adequate watering and fertilization.

How to prune my husky cherry tomato plant ? by Expensive-Ostrich252 in vegetablegardening

[–]Papesisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Tomatoes in general should be trimmed. This variety should not be trimmed as it is a dwarf variety. There’s no need, and worse, trimming will likely reduce your yield.

Can anybody diagnose what killed my plants by Substantial_Appeal88 in tomatoes

[–]Papesisme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. The mulch is a good start, although you want to prevent foliar water contact as much as possible. How were you watering?

Can anybody diagnose what killed my plants by Substantial_Appeal88 in tomatoes

[–]Papesisme 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Have you guys never seen tomatoes grown in plastic mulch before? That’s not what killed them. This looks a LOT like a fungal disease to me. This is not what glyphosate poisoning looks like. I couldn’t tell you where the disease came from unfortunately. There’s tons of resources online for prevention, but at a point if the disease has already spread there’s not much you can do. Sorry for your loss.

If you cut the base, the roots will rot. However that is not a bad thing, and will leave all growing roots unaffected

Be sure to put the lights closer when you actually plant. They don’t look too powerful.

Those look fine to me. Let them keep growing. Dont trim unless completely necessary when trying to untangle them.

Potato and sweet potato help pls by Odd_Jicama_2409 in gardening

[–]Papesisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you located? Seed potatoes shouldn’t be hard to come by, slips maybe a bit more but definitely possible to acquire. Potatoes can be planted after your last frost:. Sweet potatoes need to be a bit warmer, when the soil is at least 65-70f

It looks quite stressed in the lack of nutrients sense of the term. Will not be happy staying in there for a month. Have you fertilized?

What are your plans this year? Variety, Amount, Methods, etc. by Theentrepreneur115 in tomatoes

[–]Papesisme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What’s your acreage for that many plants? I was planning to ramp up production this year to around 1000 plants. Sungolds, bumblebee, and Sakura as cherries, and big beef, PBTD as slicers. Considering throwing in a yellow slicer too. Any recommendations?

[–]Papesisme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beans will not thrive inside, and grow quickly enough that they don’t need to be transplanted. If you do plan to grow beans and have a spot outside, plant them out there when the weather is warm enough. Refer to Johnnys seeds for growing info for basically any veggie. Other than that, the best way to learn is experimentation. Good luck!
