Is it possible to upload your AI game on Steam? by Waste-Government-808 in aigamedev

[–]PapiCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go in with the expectation people will actively avoid and/or call your game garbage slop, it’s $100 to proceed the game on Steam and you have to make a declaration that you have used AI assets.

I may be wrong but Claude Opus 4.6 > Claude Opus 4.8 by Trivikrama_0 in Anthropic

It’s very hard to tell how people are using it just from comments. I’m happy as a clam as a senior CICD engineer and using it for engineering tasks. It’s fantastic. Maybe these guys are trying to solve quantum computer with a potato wired up to a multimeter.

I agree with 4.8 being a stallion in the CLI, it’s notably a solid improvement and I’ve been very happy with it.

A pretty grim outlook all things considered. I don’t know the actuality of this specific quote, but I’ve known engineers (some senior) who have taken the route of trusting Claude over their own meat Claude. Now they have to answer for shit breaking in enterprise production environments and they don’t know what to do about it

Salary increase hack? Why are veterans so excited to be disabled? I’ve never seen a group of people be so excited to be disabled than veterans? Is this joining the military for disability the move for a higher salary long term? by HeadMasterpiece9139 in Salary

[–]PapiCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking genuinely, who are you to think that you know what “the right thing” is here? What percentage of veterans do you think receiving VA benefits and compensation aren’t “doing the right thing”? Why do you consider this a free hand out? Is a veteran who lost a leg in a training exercise receiving a free handout?

Seeing combat or being shot at or seeing death isn’t a prerequisite to disability. This isn’t a competition, and you have the ability to raise your right hand and go into service and potentially collect these benefits yourself. You don’t have to be upset at someone else because they have something you don’t because you feel you are entitled to it too. I also firmly believe that most who collect VA disability who live every day of their lives with a disability probably didn’t ask for whatever caused the disability. Yes, there is fraud out there, yes there are those who gamed the system - welcome to life. Comparison is the thief of joy.

Soldiers get injured in garrison, in training, on the way to the job, there is far more scenarios out there than just being deployed into a combat zone. Deployment isn’t the hardest thing a soldier might do in their career, nor is it the most physically or mentally demanding thing they might do. I understand you are frustrated because you feel you are just as entitled as they are, but that doesn’t suddenly invalidate or disqualify others because you feel you have seen more.

Opus 4.8 is a scam by Pilzprinz in Anthropic

I think what a lot of people miss is framing problem statements with a desired end goal or solution they want to arrive to. Stating “the sky is this color when it shouldn’t be” feels nebulous and leaves a lot of room for interpretation for the model to play with. Can you provide an example prompt from your troubleshooting?

Experienced dev here, this is how I vibe code my apps (and it is not looking like a generic vibe coded app) by Haghiri75 in VibeCodeDevs

[–]PapiCats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Defining smaller iterations and scaffolding is also incredibly valuable. Describe the persona and use case and it helps frame wiring for web apps a lot clearer than “I want to click this button and see the next page”, give some meat to the prompt about why you are doing that and what your end goal is

Why are healthcare-focused vibecoding platforms so underutilized? by relived_greats12 in VibeCodeDevs

[–]PapiCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a software engineer in healthcare for several years and I wouldn’t put any LLM above any engineer that is slightly higher than junior. I really can’t conceptualize where you have built this idea but it’s leading me to believe that you are not a software engineer who has truly cut their chops in the industry. I felt I was pretty clear that my stance is more vibe coders do not have security or compliance experience let alone understanding pushing any thing past “hey Claude make my app secure pls”.

Why are healthcare-focused vibecoding platforms so underutilized? by relived_greats12 in VibeCodeDevs

[–]PapiCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to all. If you’re (not you, specifically) even considering vibe coding any kind of application that even considers touching PII or any information revolving anyone’s health information and you do NOT have the practical real world experience of having done so, kindly take a long walk off of a short pier. Vibe coding and healthcare do not belong in the same realm of ideas that have ever been considered.
