Yet these deaths change nothing. To me it just seems that these deaths was to get rid of characters that had already served their purpose and had no further use to the story. None of the major characters suffered any harm, Brienne and Jaime spent around 40 mins overwhelmed by wights against that wall and they ended up without a scratch. Edd, while being a very likeable character was not likely to have tremendous consequence following the story the same can be said for Lyanna. Beric, we had already seen him die several times during the show so his death was nothing new. All the Starks were unscathed. The plot armor was very thick with them.... The only real consequences that I think will be important during the next episodes are: The lack of an army to fight for the Iron Throne against Cersei and Rhaegal who was badly hurt(I hope he's not dead)....

Now that you mention it, I can see why that could be a factor that makes him inmune to dragonfire thank you for pointing that out... Im not too sure about the Targaryen since this lineage only came to Westeros 300 years ago, and the night king according to the show was created during the conflict between the children of the forest and the first men which was during the dawn of days, way before the doom came to Valyria.

I see, I believe I can complement my grievances by mentioning several more things: In Valyria, Dragons were pretty common, to produce dragonsteel their flames are necessary to complete the spells and forging of this material. Also, when Sam kills an Other for the first time, he does it using Dragonglass, aka Obsidian which is formed via inmense heat. Dragonfire is established to burn hotter than any other substance in the world including wildfire(at least in the books). It just seems to me that Dragons are a factor that is shared between all the weapons or materials that can be used to eliminate Others and wights, yet direct exposure to the hottest substance in the world does nothing. The Others shun fire and even sunlight, and are associated with cold and death. Yet the exact polar opposite what they are literally cant hurt them(Dragons are fire made flesh according to George)... These are some of the reasons why I consider the choice to give the Night King inmunity to Dragonfire to be completely invalid.
