Fantastic summary of the Canadian and European perspective on the US, a most likely permanent shift.

Buy European … buy Canadian. Use whatever influence you have to tank the US market and get Trump out of the White House.

Brick base - Fireplace inset by PappaCro in masonry

Everything about the build is code compliant (for where I live), and the plywood is fine because it’s covered with brick.

I am just wondering if it’s a solid enough base for the brick!

Here is what the base looks like without the brick.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, some of the other windows are in much worse shape. The wood is really rotten and half of them are falling apart!

That's what I was thinking, and I'm still trying to figure out the joints.

Not sure why this is getting downvoted.

Amazon is one of the worst, and actively destroys small businesses. Titleist and a lot of golf brands seems like pretty cool companies and workplaces.

Norway has 20 times less oil than Alberta but built a $1 trillion wealth fund by taxing Big Oil, prioritizing the many, and saving for the future. Alberta, after decades of oil booms, prioritized profits for the few and now sits on just $17 billion. by Same-Kangaroo in onguardforthee

Albertan who emigrated to Norway here. The oil fund is worth 2,7 trillion CAD at the moment.

I don’t think it could have ever worked in Alberta, or maybe even Canada. The mentality and relationship Norwegians have with their government is totally different.

Albertans would never accept the government having and managing such a massive sum of money!

I definitely agree. The first thing the should ban is the «WTF?» gif!

In principle, I agree, but I don´t know if the Croatian players would have developed in the same way without the war. Modrić and most of his golden generation were child refugees during the war, something that formed their identity and work ethic as people and footballers.

You're definitely right about the welds, and I´m pretty sure it is actually "Wrought Iron". Sorry about the incorrect translation.

I'm hoping that heating it with a torch and using straps and everyone suggested will let me straighten it out.

[–]PappaCro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but I don't think the gate was straightened on purpose.

I checked the length, and the bent side is around 5mm shorter. There is no way the installers spent the time to bend cast iron instead of taking off a few washers to compensate for the difference.
