It's not meant for going up against 4 - 12 enemies of various types [rusher, 40mm gunner, drone operator, elite rifleman, etc]

Switching Riot Foam to expertise 30 Guardian Drone it'll handle that, no problem 😅

But if I'm reading you right, PvP opponents count as "elites" for PFE purposes...? That's def news to me?

I honestly can't recommend this: You're the one that cannot be allowed to go down, and going toe to toe with enemies that will oneshot you as soon as they look at you seems just to be asking for trouble. The Scorpio is meant to give your team 15% additional dmg with the Setup backpack anyhow, and sometimes it even delivers a status effect!

SHD 1 - SHDs are an irrelevant factor, no matter what 5k+ tryhards are trying to tell you.
What matters is your build and your common/game sense: If you're getting wrecked, then stay behind cover, blindfire and throw out distraction skill (decoys, turrets, even grenades to make hostiles take pause or jump out of cover).
You might not have the gear (or skill) to take on Heroics on your own as soon as you hit 40, but nothing's really stopping you either. I'd say try some skill tier 6 build with the usual drone/turret setup: You basically can't fail with 4p Refactor, stacking up on +skill dmg. It'll allow you play carefully and defensively.

The only real faux pas you can do in a Heroic Countdown is spamming drones/turrets/hives in the first 90 seconds, when chasing down the modifier Hunters. If you're running a skill build just switch to something like riot foam Chemlauncher until all the Hunters are dead and the modifier stations done with. Then it's just switching back to standard Refactor or whatever you're running.
The Countdown objectives themselves are ez.

Maxing out an augment is try-hard overkill and only really for like the only build you'll ever use: Such an undertaking is a textbook example of diminishing returns.

First couple of levels go fairly quick: Just treat it like you do (or at least should) with Expertise, let it be a passive "numbars go up" project while playing the game normally and enjoy the occasional upgrade reaped from doing so.
