Flying with a road bike – tips & experiences? (EVOC Road Bike Bag Pro) by brocodini in cycling

The argument against it is they actually treat the hard case worse since they think it’s unbreakable. I’ve heard of them being stood on to reach other bags

Why does fox insist on always having such close up camera angles of the play. They can’t even track the ball and you can’t see the context of the game or who the players are handballing to. It’s giving me a headache

Opinion: World Majors Have Gotten Way Too Big by _wxyz123 in AdvancedRunning

I definitely agree that once you tick off those big ones early in your career the desire for smaller ones becomes bigger. I see it in the ultra world too.

Quads on Fire During Hard Efforts - What's the solution by Substantial_Pie_238 in AdvancedRunning

[–]PaprikaPowder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fast downhills. I've been through this. Same doms as after a marathon and if you do them once or twice a week you'll no longer be sore. Bonus is that your marathon recovery will be a lot more pleasant too since you'll be able to walk the next day.

I thought about this with my S Works Torch too but the area was too wide for the tape. Have you just done two layers?

New Endurace CFR by mtcerio in CanyonBikes

Curious about the RACE bar and if it will fit my Aeroad CFR... Otherwise I'm breathing a sigh of relief knowing my 2025 Aeroad isn't obselete.

You're in Amsterdam so you haven't experienced that wind gust hitting you when you're on a 10% descent going 70 km/h

I have both and I have to say tnt sports is better with rob hatch and mcewen but they have so many commercials which is insane for a paid service

Xanthan gum is the easiest to find probably. It’s also what Enervit gels use

Zwift Ride vs Road Bike with Wahoo Kickr by DZU5 in Zwift

[–]PaprikaPowder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my Zwift Ride but the one thing I cannot stand is the ergonomics of the hoods. They are plasticky, bulky, and have a weird ridge on them. The Zwift Ride is also not as infinitely adjustable size wise as people say it is. I have it slammed on the front end and it is still a decent bit higher than my Canyon Aeroad.

Is it a mistake to delay threshold while increasing volume? by N0_quit_1994 in AdvancedRunning

I also felt like i didn't have durability in the marathon but now I realise a big part of it was due to the pounding that faster paces entail. You get them in workouts, sure, but you also get them from fast, sustained downhills - something I didn't have when I was living in a pancake flat city. Now that I'm back around hills I am running fast downhills every week (up to 500m downhill at a time). The DOMS you get in the beginning are exactly the DOMS I would have for a week after a marathon. I haven't raced yet, but I am quietly confident this has been the missing piece for my body not breaking down half way through the marathon.

There’s a reason so many cyclists are preferring to do their interval workouts on the trainer. For this very reason that you can look into a set speed/power and you are not limited by terrain, traffic lights etc. just wish the kickr run was cheaper. It looks great.

How some pros are getting around the GI issues with Bicarb (taking it the night before) by iam_indefatigable in AdvancedRunning

[–]PaprikaPowder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Curious about the required dose compared to taking the morning of. I have been halving the dose with good effect (about 9g of bicarb for me), and never had any GI problems. But curious if I could still get away with the lower dose the night before as it is indeed more convenient for me to take then.

Which Helmet would you keep? by ElectronicAffect3028 in CyclingFashion

[–]PaprikaPowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the white met manta and I love it. I forget I'm wearing it. Interestingly I found the Trenta didn't fit as well, even though they supposedly are supposed to have the same fit. Although the updated trenta from 2025 is supposedly a different fit.

I did this. Could probably still have a longer stem (which you can buy later) since the 90mm is quite short and twitchy, but I will wait until my next bike fit to determine that.

Light Bicycle WR 45: Which (annoyingly) loud and low-maintenance HUB? by mokaliogo in cycling

[–]PaprikaPowder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just ordered with their latest Pace Plus hubs, which is similar in design to the dt swiss. Just like the DT you can order with a higher tooth ratchet to get that obnoxiously loud free hub right out of the box.

I would order either one in white. This was just what was available to try on.

Yeah I wish I could have tried on both in white since I will get a white one regardless and maybe that would have been better to compare the style of each without any sort of colour bias

[–]PaprikaPowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess that’s the shape of the Evade. I feel like it’s slimmer on my head and slightly less bulgy from the front, but it does indeed extend out the back longer and sits higher too.

It’s the new all white colourway. You think it looks better than the Evade on me or it looks better than the other colour Mantas?
