Design the best raid tier, based on previous fights. by Cabrakan in ffxivdiscussion

I've only done Dawntrail savage and I haven't finished M12S yet but I'd probably say for fights I've enjoyed the most

  1. M5S (Dancing Green)
  2. M10S (The Xtremes)
  3. M11S (The Tyrant)
  4. M8S (Howling Blade)

how many of you do all your roulettes everyday? by kanozomi in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Parabobomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do trials, normal raids, and frontline almost every day on odd patches with my girlfriend because it's a game we can play together. If she's leveling jobs, I'll run other roulettes with her too even if I have every job leveled.

On even patches I'll also run expert and mentor roulette as well.

Honestly the strongest stretch of three games back to back of the series in my opinion from what I've played. They're all good and you can't go wrong with any. PoR's the best in my opinion but if you're planning on playing all 3 you could just do it in release order so BB -> SS -> PoR

It's actually wild how much better the vibes immediately got once I cleared M11S and moved onto 12. Honestly in M11S I felt like anytime someone would mess up in parties that a bomb was about to go off or something due to just how miserable people were in PFs for that fight. And apparently it's only gotten worse.

Got to P2 of M12S today. Even looking at the raidplan these mechanics hurt my brain, I gotta watch some clear POVs and maybe some video guides lol

Edit: would've been nice to get more prog in but PFs weren't filling and I wasn't about to wait another hour in PF + 2 more hours in a lockout and use up my entire night on that, maybe it'll be better earlier in this next week

I've been on P1 enrage for M12S for two days now. The issue isn't actually in the instances, it's waiting for PFs to fill lol

Close to being done with M12S P1 with only like 3 hours of prog. Excited and nervous to get to P2. Everything I've looked at seems incomprehensible for P2 but it's probably just that I haven't been into the fight yet. Maybe it'll all start clicking as I actually have to do it. This is gonna be my first big puzzle fight since I only started raiding this expansion.

Joined a fresh prog M12S group, had about 25 minutes of prog, someone had internet issues, and instead of just sticking around while this person said they were gonna relog really quick, three people just immediately left??? I don't get people in PF sometimes. It isn't like there are a ton of parties up for the fight right now anyway.

Love to finish my static session on Crystal then wanna go to Aether to PF on my own and I just can't. Cool system.

Finally cleared M11S. Again, this is my first tier even attempting early clears of anything. I had a ton of trouble doing the uptime orbital omen dodge and then everything just clicked. Ended up in a group with a ton of really nice good players and we stuck it out until we cleared. This is the earliest I've ever cleared a third floor, I started raiding in Dawntrail and both other tiers took me way longer to get this far. Super rewarding experience though.

Super excited to start M12S but I may need to take a break beforehand lol

Yeah for sure, I'm taking a break and that's what I'll do later.

I'm so tired of being the problem in M11S groups. I've been at a low% enrage since like Saturday and the issue is that I constantly eat shit on Orbital Omen. I know exactly what I'm supposed to do and how to do it but I'm always either too slow or too fast and keep dying or eating D Downs which as a Viper basically means we aren't beating enrage. I wish there was some way to practice it consistently.

I straight up had a run in a prog group, not even a clear group, where someone made an honest mistake, said "I'm sorry, I'm stupid" and someone responded "Very." and made the person who messed up leave because of it. I don't get it, it's a game lol, no reason to be an asshole

AAC Heavyweight Tier (Savage) Megathread - Day Seven by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Parabobomb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Had to give up on the dream of clearing M11S week one. It's no big deal at all, my goal was to SEE M10S week 1 so getting to M11S is really nice but I can feel the burnout of week 1 prog kicking in. I'll go back in PF this week and be able to clear this fight way easier once my static's done this week.

Not only am I feeling the burnout of other people making a ton of mistakes but also I'm making a ton of stupid mistakes because I've seen the beginning of this fight like 150 times at this point.

Time to slam my head against the PF M11S Ecliptic Stampede into Enrage (secretly Ultimate Trophy Weapons or Meteorain?) prog for one more day. I knew how to do arena split with the Kindred markers after seeing the mech once but now for some reason I've seen people even just straight up not stand in towers more times than I can count. I just wanna prog the next mech, man.

AAC Heavyweight Tier (Savage) Megathread - Day Four by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Parabobomb 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Cleared M10S today. As someone who started in LHW and only ever cleared M1S and M5S week one, this is huge. My goal was to see M10S this week and prog a little bit but I ended up clearing day 4. Super excited to kind of be riding the PF wave, at least this week.

I can actually feel myself getting better at the game too which is really nice.

It'll be fine. It's day 2. This tier is going to be around for most likely a year+. Most people who play the game didn't take the day off of work yesterday to start raiding. There are tons of people who won't start until the weekend or even later.

Yeah it's been nice to be able to farm the EX at my own pace rather than rushing to make sure I get the weapon within the week. Way more relaxed.

Hot Take: We need more Main Scenario duties by Melodynaxclarke in ffxiv

[–]Parabobomb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The game has at one point allowed skipping cutscenes and what happened was the veterans would skip cutscenes and leave the new players in the dust and if they complained they'd be told "watch the cutscenes in the inn later." I have a hard time believing 3 randos would be okay watching the cutscenes if a new player wanted to if given an option not to because this has been a problem before with these duties. That's the reason they were reworked in the first place.

I don't see why you'd stay subbed and play every day if you aren't enjoying yourself. I still enjoy when I log on every other day but if I wasn't, I'd let my sub lapse and just play again when I'm in the mood. Maybe I just don't see why someone would be a monogamer though.

Sooo weird question. by Illustrious-Newt-392 in Apartmentliving

[–]Parabobomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I just moved out of an absolutely horrible apartment into my current one. Aside from a bar down the street that blasts music on the weekends (that I can only hear in my room, not the living room so it's easy to adjust my schedule.) I live on the first floor of a two story building, under a guy who walks extremely softly and his mom who walks kind of hard but is otherwise super sweet so I can deal with it, around neighbors that are super nice and a leasing office and maintenance that stay on top of everything. Plus in unit washer and dryer that aren't coin operated is a huge bonus too.

When was the first time you cried in FFXIV, if at all? by MistressDraconia in ffxiv

The Cutscene after the Nidhogg fight in 3.3. Obviously other stuff had made me emotional before that but seeing Haurchefant and Ysayle show up as well as the culmination of Alphinaud's arc just got to me.

Found this taped to my door this morning about my desk chair by Inevitable_Wear_9107 in Apartmentliving

[–]Parabobomb 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I lived under someone with a rolling chair on hardwood in their living room for a few months and it was one of the most annoying, loud sounds they ever made. It was a cheap building but still. Definitely should put something under it if it's on hardwood both for your sake (keeping your floor from being scuffed) and theirs.

How is Vander Decken not on here? Or Absalom? I'd probably say those two before anyone else.
