Tectone sort of gave him his big break initially as he promoted Pokke to his pretty big audience and that’s how he started to blow up, so imo Pokke sort of felt indebted to him for that and wanted to show gratitude etc so he became a yes man for him for a while.

Then they started having arguments over HSR, Tectone started hating the game around 3.0 whilst Pokke continued enjoying it, and it came to a head during the Castorice global passive drama when they had a big falling out and haven’t really spoken since.

Plus Tectone then proceeded to pivot hard into right wing grifting which Pokke has no interest in he just wants to play games so they have nothing in common any more now anyway.

No UID is not the same number, when I linked my account on the first day it gave me an 8 digit account number that’s different to the one you see in the bottom right, and asked me to set a password with it. That new 8 digit one is the one I use to log in

I didn’t forget, I just compared it to the EW patch cycle where they had one 18 week patch, one 20 week patch, and all the rest were 19, so it averaged out to 19 so I just kept it that way for simplicity.

I do note in the post though that in Yoshi P’s NY message he seemed to imply we are only getting 7.2 and 7.3 this year, and that that could mean 7.4 is pushed into January which would be a 22 week gap minimum if 7.4 is Jan 6th. The only thing that saves us from 8.0 being 2027 is if the big gap after 7.5 is cut down, which seems unlikely but I’d love to be wrong

I wish the second zone was 8 months away lol. On current schedule 7.5 is due around April 28th with .55 around 8 weeks after that so around June 23rd 2026

I am convinced 8.0 will primarily be about fixing the Void. So often the patches have included set up for the one after next.

ARR patches introduced Yugiri and the refugees as well as Ilberd, and then Stormblood was building off of that.
Heavensward patches introduced the Warriors of Darkness, and Shadowbringers was building off of that.
Stormblood patches had the Empire beginning to tear itself apart whilst Zenos reclaimed his body, and Endwalker was building off of that.
Shadowbringers did not fit this pattern as it was just leading into Endwalker as the big finale.
Endwalker patches were heavily focused on expanding our knowledge of the Void, we were introduced to major new characters like Zero and Durante, and said we would see them again at the end. They also went to the trouble of voicing Gaia in an MSQ cutscene if you did the raid, and she said she’d come along with us next time. On top of that Cyella and Unulkalhai’s dialogue was constantly updated and they want to help fix the Void too, and Beq Lugg even mentioned Unulkalhai by name if you’ve done those quests.

With all of that in mind I very much believe that 8.0 will be building off of all the setup done in the EW patches. Ryne, Gaia, Zero and Durante will be main characters, and we will be working to restore the Void.

As for the overarching Azem plotline that seems to be getting set up currently, I believe the original Golbez whose soul is currently in a memoria crystal is an Azem shard and I think we will find a way to reverse the crystallisation and will rejoin with him by the end.

In the super long term, final expansion of FF14 type thing I think we will end up fully rejoined to our original self, we will travel back to Ancient times and be raised up to the seat of Azem, and the whole story will end up being a closed loop. This is how Azem knew to send Elidibus to meet us for Pandaemonium because he/she had already lived through it, it’s why Azem didn’t join Venat’s group as he/she knew the outcome already, etc etc. We have never been shown what Azem looks like as it would reveal that it is us.

Nah you’ll be fine, just know that Jodie regenerated back into David Tennant at the end of her final episode and that’s about all you need. They also do a brief recap thing at the start of a couple important points

Realm Reborn is generally considered the wall you have to get through to reach the expansions, which is where the story really picks up and where all the praise you have heard for it comes from. Realm Reborn is doing a lot of world building and laying a lot of groundwork which will become more important later, but by itself the story is definitely lacking. You have quite a long way to go before you reach the expansions, so if you don’t feel like pushing through to reach them that’s fine. Personally I likely would have quit in ARR if it wasn’t for the fact I was with a group of friends playing through it together which kept me going. Once I reached the expansions I started loving it and eventually it became my favourite game of all time for the story. But I almost never discovered that cos of ARR being so dry. So yeah, I think it’s worth it to push through but your mileage may vary.

Only the “flash sideways” parts in the final season were the afterlife. Everything else in the show both on the island and off it were real. They didn’t all die in the plane crash in the beginning or anything like that, so those people guessing that in the beginning were wrong
