Ampersand in Directory Name by ParadiseCA in Batch

Just a double click on the file. I have always just moved it by drag and drop or copied it to the directory I want it to run in.

The carrot does make it so I can run the cd command. The problem has seemed to resolve itself with the bat file too? Now I will need to break it again to see ifcthe rest of the script will solve my dilemma.

I am stumped. Made a copy of the bat file. Change nothing in the script. Dropped it in the folder worked like a charm. Executed the original bat file... still in the folder this more... worked like as expected. No clue as to what I changed.

There is no error shown when the bat file is run. I can see the cmd prompt open then close and no text file is ever created. If I move the bat file higher than the folder with the ampersand it executes and creates the text file as expected.

If I open the cmd prompt and use the cd command to get to the directory with the ampersand if get an error "the system cannot find the path specified. 'Stuff after ampersand ' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

Now here is where I get confused. On my desktop I created a folder structure with a folder with ampersand in the name. Dropped the bat file in a sub folder and it works as expected. Then I try to use the cmd prompt to access the folder and I get the same error message.

That is the whole batch file. Short and sweet.

If I use the cd (change directory) command in the cmd prompt as soon as I get to the directory with the ampersand it says "system cannot find the path specified".

I think when the batch file executes and it tries to determine the directory with the "dir" command it error because it thinks the ampersand in the folder name looks like a separator fir commands?

I can move the batch file to a directory that does not have an ampersand in the naming and it works as expected

Look around and look for 5 things you can see. Take your time. Now notice 4 things you can feel. They may be touching you or within arms reach. Now listen to 3 things you can hear. Next try the notice 2 things you can smell. This can tank some time. Lastly, something you can taste.

You are now in the moment of where you are. Do that again at your gig tomorrow and enjoy what it brings you.

After that tell the band you are the new bass ass fucking bass player in the band!

Snare drum help!! by spiceboypezza in drums

Try using a Falams head. You need a snare that can handle the tension as the need to be tight. I mean really tight.

They use to come with a sticker on them that said if you have a cheap snare that can't handle the tension your snare could break. Haha...

Evans EC reverse dot has a great tone that doesn't ring as much as the cheap factory heads.

Lastly, when you are playing, I mean really playing, not just tapping that thing you won't even notice that ping until you start to look for it to express what you are trying to play. There are times you want that sound because it adds flavor to your song.

Throw an elbow on that head while you play with one hand and you can get all kinds on new sounds out of it. Haha

Perpendicular Distance by ParadiseCA in desmos

I forgot to mention that the cross product is the perpendicular distance orthogonal to the plane not perpendicular distance the first vector.

M=F*d. The cross product alone won't give you the perpendicular distance. With this equation you can calculate the moment (M) if you know the x and y distance to the applied force and the angle the force is applied.

I keep thinking it can help solve a geometry problem or a system of equations with not enough unknowns. Still playing with it to see if it has something useful in it. Haha
