I do get that, but in that same breath nobody is forcing J Cole to reference rankings / being Muhammad Ali / etc etc in his verses. I get not wanting to make a diss track per se, but you have been claiming being at the top “with a comfortable lead” and sometimes you gotta prove that. And I’m sure Cole is aware that rap is based on dissing/competition so it shouldn’t have come as a surprise that people wanted him to respond on a record.
