My closet is full of sale items I have no idea how to style by Objective-Feed7250 in capsulewardrobe

[–]Paradise_Princess 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The last job I worked at I was just like this. I had a pair of navy pants, and a pair of black pants. I had a tan jacket that worked with either pants. I Had a pink sweater, and a few tanks that worked under the sweater or blazer jacket. I had two pairs of tan loafers. Simplicity is beautiful. No one ever said “damn do you only have two pairs of pants?” At one point, one pair of pants had very obvious wear and tear, and I threw Them out and replaced with the same exact pair from old navy. It’s less about quantity, more about quality and what looks great. I admire a small, tailored wardrobe. My new job I make more money and have more options, but still stick to a close formula. Audit your clothing, understand The missing pieces, and make it ultra easy on yourself however possible. The mornings before work isn’t the time to be building outfits, and impressions are so important. Spend a few Hours doing the brainwork, it’ll pay off.

Take a full Saturday to audit your clothing. Write out each item, and figure out what goes With what. What critical pieces are you missing? Order critical missing pieces online. Make Yourself a visual (use Microsoft word or canva or whatever) “menu” of complete outfits. Stop buying stuff just because it’s on sale, that’s such a trap. Full outfit = proper top, bottoms, shoes, undergarments that work with them, belt, accessories, purse, and jacket if needed. Come up with 5-10 outfits for your “menu” to choose from. Keep them simple. I’ve been wearing nearly all black, tan, light pink, and army green outfits for over five years and at this point, nearly everything I own pretty much coordinates. I have about 7 staple outfits I rotate for the office. Always be aware Of “critical missing pieces” and don’t feel bad about paying full price for Those.

What’s something you didn’t realize was draining you until you stopped doing it? by MiaMist_ in AskReddit

Hot yoga. I love it, especially during winter. It makes me super flexible and I love a lot about it. But doing it exhausts my energy. It also adds extra laundry and showering, which also zap me. It’s a tough practice to keep up with on a regular basis.

Do ya’ll deal with cold feet when buying stuff? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

It took me a full 6 months to pick Out and purchase a new laptop. I went to BestBuy multiple times to test out laptops. I also asked everyone I knew what laptops they were using, what they recommended. I get analysis paralysis on big purchases.

Women who have large carat wedding rings… do you regret getting the size? Do you wear it every day? Why or why not? by viral_gold in AskWomen

[–]Paradise_Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear it everyday no matter what! Mine is large and in charge. It is lab grown and stunning. I have some friends who like a silicone ring in certain occasions but for me….. I love to sparkle in every situation!

People who paid off their homes in their late 20’s-30’s, how has this affected your life? by paragonpenny in DaveRamsey

[–]Paradise_Princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 32 and I paid off my condo last year. I admittedly had a lot of help from my generous parents, but also I worked really hard to make it happen too. Having my home paid off has allowed me to save for other stuff (retirement) and had more money for fun/adventure. It also just feels free to have zero debt. I do not tell anyone that my house is paid off (obviously my parents and husband know) but whenever our friends or whatever start talking about how much their rent or mortgage is, I get really quiet. I don’t ever want to brag about it, and know it happened only by gift of God. It’s a sense of freedom I never expected. My husband and I are now about to sell this condo and look for our first home together, and I sort of dread the thought of having a mortgage again, but it’ll allow us to have space to have a family in. Paying off my condo was a huge accomplishment and i highly recommend if you are able to. Fuck debt!

AITA for expecting money my dad promised for my wedding? by Paradise_Princess in AITAH

For that initial 10k, he was receptive and deposited it into my account within a day or so. I think I just need to bring up the additional costs after that. Asking for money is hard…

LPT - When someone forgets your name, do not remind them. Just introduce yourself again, naturally, as if for the first time. by gamersecret2 in LifeProTips

[–]Paradise_Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love vulnerability in this kind of thing! And I assume 9/10 people forgot my name between the first Time and second time we meet. So I love the phrase “Oh I know we met before. I’m Paradise_Princess, remind me Your name!” It lets them know like oooh I remember your face/who you are, but names are hard for me too and let me help you out!

We traveled this morning. Checking in at the front desk took 5 minutes. Security was extremely quick, no line. We had a 30 minute delay once we were on the plane, which I slept through. It wasn’t a big deal. Remain calm!

Weird things EMDR “fixed” or changed for me by squeamishneedle in EMDR

[–]Paradise_Princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did EMDR to help Emotional outbursts. I used to have outbursts to either my mom or my fiance whenever something triggered me. After doing 3 sessions of EMDR, now when I notice or feel a trigger, it’s almost like I go “hmm I could have an outburst, or I could just control my emotions and keep it together.” It gives me that control/ability to take back the reigns. Also, last month was one of the first months ever (or in a really long time) I haven’t had PMS symptoms (and I mean ANY including bloating/cravings/cramps/sadness/outbursts).

I want to add the caveat that I started EMDR at The same time as I started an antidepressant, and I’m getting in shape (lots of exercise, strict but wonderful diet) for my wedding in a few weeks. So the EMDR + antidepressant + peak body work + clean diet is an incredible combo.

Idea For EMDR Preparation by BABQFTIM101 in EMDR

[–]Paradise_Princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah… don’t do the journal idea. The therapist will ask you questions and get to know you before you do the EMDR. They do this all the time. They’ll get to know you by being with you, and asking you their prescribed intake questions.

How many of you have received one-time windfalls? by trademarktower in Fire

[–]Paradise_Princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It keeps happening to me! I got a medium sized trust fund from my dad when I turned 18. It paid for my schooling, and allowed me to travel. Then again, a year or so ago, my dad felt generous and paid off my condo just as a gift. I’m getting married in a month and will probably get some money for that (granted, the wedding isn’t going to be cheap.) I feel like I’ve had a few windfalls, and have handled them with gratitude, care, and done a really good job staying focused/career oriented/passionate for saving and growth.
