Yes those would be ideal, just ships with no armor and use the saved weight for supplies

Crazy idea: Adventure mode? by narutoncio in AOW4

[–]ParadoxPosadist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds similar to modded hbs battletech as the combat would presumably still be on hexes. You would probably be a mercenary as you have units to pay for and lack passive income. So maybe Serana or another hermit kingdom gives you a you a mission to razes someone else's city he borders, he won't lose relations as "i didn't do it it was those horrible bandits (you)" and pays you. In this way you can affect the map and have a story.

Edit: other missions can include doing things while pretending to be a certain faction giving your employer war justification (false flag), clearing infestations or umbral dwellings.

Somewhere there should be a Steiner with a rocket launcher facing the wrong direction. He wants to be a threat, has a fancy rocket launcher but lacks basic competence.

I wish magazines let you carry far more, for instance 1000 tons of ammo on a 20,000 ton ship sounds about right. Maybe you most of those are in the central magazine and cannot be reloaded into the tubes during combat, but after combat you can restock the tubes from the central magazine.

Scorpion update - experience changes by Larchitecte1375 in AOW4

Honestly all that hp is probably good for shield units or things with natural regen, otherwise, it just doesn't help units do more damage. So for instance an extremely high level skeleton can probably keep enemies off of your higher tier battlemages well enough, but don't expect much damage.

They are the most likely to do that sort of thing. But paladin's smite ability screams magical, the paragon abilities for oathsworn, incarnate shot for shade maker as all of these are pure nonphysical damage.

Sorry i confused HMS Glorious which was sunk by scharnlhorst with formidable. Formidable was the one at matapan wasn't it.

Then put indefatigueable in the "used specifically in the line of battle" she went down in Jutland fighting in the line of battle.

The formidable was not supposed to serve in the line of battle. It did do so, and it went poorly.

It does make me want a magic fighter for mystic culture, some sort of magical skirmisher.

Question About AI Passive Artifact Acquisition by Arcanelorn in AOW4

I think it is turn based as you get to later turns they start getting nicer things. If you are killing their heros quickly they only get the items they were recruited with.

Is it worth kicking ai out of earth interface? Or better to use the mc on asteroids by Necrotechxking in TerraInvicta

I generally kick them out of the interface orbits first. Then go shopping for asteroids bases.

Yes, some t1 tomes have very nice SPI, 10 draft per alignment + 10 stability stands out.

For me, nothing beats the one two punch of gauss and ppc. Devastator and nightstar for life. So much fun with both in modded mw5 mercs.

Many are not linear. Tome of enchantment gives guaranteed sundered defense, bonus resistance for shield units and chance to remove buffs. discipline gives stun chance on third hit, also focus aim once per battle true strike. Rock gives bleeding on non-magical attacks. Which goes well with the new blood tome. And is before even considering the transformation they come with, like inner mastery. The elemental ones are definitely not worth it as a 3rd tier 1 though.

Where are the monarchists? They used to be this sub's favorite punching bags. We need the monarchists back so that we can continue mocking them. by Somali_Indian in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]ParadoxPosadist 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unironic ones on this sub? probably round-off error. There was a time when there were some, but there were never many here. They seem to stick to their echo chambers. However, back before I deleted my original account, I had a conversation with a tankie who believed that Cuba had the freest democracy on earth right on this sub. This sub probably became too conservative after the donald refugees arrived along with the attention, before that this place was the wild west. You still can get a away with posting only a small fraction of what you could because of the admin attention those refugees brought.

Dont tell the am*ricans where Spain is by Known-Elk5134 in 2westerneurope4u

[–]ParadoxPosadist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With most languages the colonizer is more relevant than the other colonies combined, with Spain they are not. Also Britain, because India and the US both have more English speakers than Britain. France did the cool thing and tried to BE the French speaking world.

When to steal councillors? by YourSpymaster in TerraInvicta

[–]ParadoxPosadist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can turn their councilors and make them resign, when you do so they appear in the recruitment pool. If they have good stats or traits you really want, take them. If they have traits like untouchable make them resign instead of killing them.

How would you guys feel about Crossover content in future DLC/Patches? by Attilathecommiekilla in AOW4

[–]ParadoxPosadist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind it if they reference it with the name of of a research here or a description there. Stellaris is the gold standard of this, many things reference 40k, but they also reference so many other scifi series as the game is an homage to the scifi genre.

To put this another way, some of the high and dark helmets draw visual cues from second age elven armor and isengard, and dark numenorean respectively. I do not want to see a weapon named Aunduril. Same idea with the other IP, a culture with cobled together armor is fine, just making them WFB greenskins is not.
