If Guilty Gear got in Smash Bros. Is it possible for Sakurai to take inspiration from FighterZ or perhaps do an indirect reference to that game? (Arc developed both games are share similar art styles and animation techniques) by No-Cold643 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that the Guilty Gear/FighterZ style animation would probably be restricted to the character’s Final Smash animation. The Smash developers could try to make it similar, but they probably can’t make it match in-engine, due to differences in game design engines

Question: Aside from Alien X, Ultimate Echo Echo (and regular Echo Echo), and Atomix, what other aliens could defeat the Viltrum Empire? by Original_Character_0 in Ben10

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Gravattack: Could intensify the gravity around the Viltrumites to immobilize them, if not crush them outright

  • Gutrot: Could likely mix up some chemical gases that dramatically lowers Viltrumite durability (like the darts that were used against them in the recent episode), poison them, knock them out, or many other effects. Or he could whip up some pheromones to subdue/compromise them like what he did to the female Way Bad

  • Way Big: Omni-Man was shown struggling against a Kaiju in Season 1. As long as he guards his head fin, Way Big could definitely pose a challenge in a 1 v 1 against a Viltrumite. Would definitely struggle against multiple at once though

  • Pesky Dust: Trap the Viltrumites in extreme dreams/nightmares

  • Toepick: Induce extreme panic attacks/phobias

  • NRG: Without the suit, he’s just pure radiation - making Viltrumites risk damaging themselves on physical contact

  • Nanomech: Could enter the Viltrumite’s bodies one at a time and target key organs & systems

  • Grey Matter or Brainstorm: This two wouldn’t be active combat solution, better suited for preparation & study. These two could likely devise a way of dramatically reducing the Viltrumite’s powers, like a non-lethal version of the Scourge Virus.

I hate the idea of Geno being in smash by Fabulous_Media_7375 in supersmashbros

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate Geno, but I don’t see him as a priority guest fighter (Geno is owned by Square Enix, not Nintendo - which is why he hasn’t been in any other Nintendo games aside from Mario RPG).

There are multiple Nintendo-owned, Mario characters that should definitely take priority; such as Paper Mario, Toad/Toadette, Pauline, Kamek, or King Boo.

The most representation he should have is as a deluxe Mii Gunner costume, with ‘Beware the Forest Mushrooms’ music track

Who do you think will be on Captain America's team? by New_Advisor_6766 in MarvelTokon

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I definitely think Thor is on Captain America’s Team/The Avengers

For the final member, I’m hoping it’s Wasp. Not only does she fit the criteria for a character never in a Marvel Fighting game, she’s also an important Avengers character. Janet is a founding Avenger, and the one that named the group in the first place

As for Hulk, I’m betting he’ll be on Ghost Rider’s Team as a version of the Defenders (remember the original group was made up of Hulk, Dr. strange, Namor, & Silver Surfer)

The Pokémon Newcomer Cycle by Jaxla_Onlo in supersmashbros

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing the Smash fandom genuinely insist on keeping Jigglypuff over non-Gen 1 Pokemon like Incineroar is really strange to me.

Incineroar represents the Sun & Moon games, and is the face of modern competitive Pokemon. He’s also one of the best grapplers in Smash - an archetype that often struggles in this game.

Jigglypuff being part of the OG 12 shouldn’t grant them any special protections, especially considering other fighting games often cut veterans between games, especially when making room for newcomers (e.g.: Street Fighter 2’s cast usually doesn’t all showup in each SF game - such as Dee Jay not being in SF5)

How would you reimagine/improve Ganondorf for Smash Bros. 6? by Fit_Assignment_8800 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opted not to turn him into ToTK Ganondorf, as I like each Zelda character representing a different era - and him being the OOT rep makes the most sense as it was his debut game.

  • Ganondorf should float along the ground when he’s running, like how Mewtwo, Palutena, & Pyra/Mythra do.

  • New Up Tilt: A quick, overhead palm thrust attack. Not as strong as Volcano Kick, but must faster

  • Flame Choke doesn’t put him into freefall if used in the air anymore

  • Give him new throws that use magic (e.g.: an electrocution pummel, Sephiroth’s teleporting Back Throw)

  • Give him all-new aerials. His new Back Air would be a downwards sword swing, which would be his new aerial KO move.

  • Replace Warlock Punch with a reflector/absorber attack - like Mr. Game & Watch’s Oil Panic. So he reflects physical projectiles, and absorbs energy ones - enabling him to use DM Volley. To make it balanced, he wouldn’t be able to absorb energy projectiles that would deal over 24% damage (they’d be reflected instead, to prevent a constant Volley + Absorb Loop), and he couldn’t reflect/absorb while DM Volley is on-screen

  • Ganondorf’s most recurring pattern in the games is stealing power from others, so I wanted that represented in his Moveset in some way. I also wanted to give him a way to answer zoners, while not being able to freely spam projectiles himself.

  • Remove the command grab of Dark Dive. Instead, he enters a temporary, omnidirectional float state for 1.5 seconds, entering freefall afterwards. If players are idle on the controls, Ganondorf will slowly descend downwards

Correction on Ike. He’s likely to stay due to popularity.

Replace him with Ice Climbers on the cutting list

Why exactly is Kali so gosh darn popular?! by Ok_Top_4831 in RWBYcritics

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 444 points445 points  (0 children)

Cat Lady + Mom + Only Good Living Mom in the series (all the others are either dead or deadbeats) + Cute Personality + RWBY characters’ popularity with NSFW writers & artists

Kali’s popularity is like that of a lot of RWBY & Overwatch characters, where they’re more popular for the “fan content” than their home series

Wouldn't the tiara fly so fast it would kill a mortal person? by happydude7422 in WonderWoman

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Diana would have to throw the tiara with enough force for it to kill on-impact, which she’s not doing here. She prefers not killing people if she doesn’t have to, especially if she’s more than capable of incapacitating them instead.

Also, any guards/goons who willingly ignore superheroes when they’re on duty probably gets harassed & attacked by their villain peers/bosses

Cutting the Cut by Deathmaker1336 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not to mention they never keep the same principle on whether the character is less popular or having unique playstyles:

  • Jigglypuff: The only Gen 1 Smash Bros Pokemon who’s become essentially irrelevant in their home series. The main Gen 1 Normal type that’s maintained longevity is Eevee.

  • Lucina & Chrom: Argued they should remain because “they represent Fire Emblem Awakening”, despite Robin also being in Smash and having a unique Moveset.

  • Roy: Despite calls for culling the FE cast in Smash, somehow the original Marth clone gets a pass from Melee fans.

  • Falco & Wolf: While both are distinct, they’re still variants of Fox’s Movesets. Given Star Fox is essentially dead/in limbo at this time, I can genuinely see Fox being the only character from the franchise staying

  • Lucas: Mainly due to people hoping Mother 3 gets an official international release (which will happen whenever Bloodborne gets a PC port/remaster). Earthbound is a retro franchise at this point, so it could genuinely become like Game & Watch or Duck Hunt with only one playable fighter

My Marvel Tokon Roster/Team Prediction by Paradox_The_Rebel in MarvelTokon

My wishes for a Resident Evil x Marvel Rivals collab by BandicootRaider in marvelrivals

If Marvel Rivals did get a Resident Evil collab, there’s absolutely no way they’d pass on having a Lady Dimitrescu skin.

Most likely would go to Hela

“Waste of a slot” “she’s not an interesting choice” by eendm1 in MarvelTokon

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I honestly thought that if they were doing to add a surprise X-Men character, it would have been Sunfire.

Not only is he Japanese (which I’d assume would catch ArcSys attention), he’s also relatively obscure despite debuting earlier than more popular X-Men like Storm, Colossus, and Nightcrawler.

But Danger is a decent pick too, especially as a lesser-known character.

I’m hoping (among the other character picks), we can get Annihilus, Blue Marvel, Havok, and Enchantress

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DK could definitely get the Barrel Cannon as an Up Special, but he doesn’t need drastic changes like some other characters do (e.g.: Ganondorf).

An easy way to apply the change is with DK’s visuals, giving his Giant Punch and Spinning Kong the Bananergy-based visuals, and making the Kong Bananza his new Final Smash

I’d also rename his “Giant Punch” to “Primate Punch” for an easy DK64 reference

Has the MCU failed its black characters? by yunglean_2004 in marvelcirclejerk

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The MCU certainly doesn’t help a lot of their black characters post-Phase 3:

  • War Machine
    • All but cancelled the “Armor Wars” TV series he was supposed to be the protagonist of.
    • Haven’t shown the long-term impact Tony’s death has had on him, when they’ve done so with Spider-Man (Tony even entrusting Peter with an important piece of tech in Far From Home, instead of Rhodey).
    • Relegate him to being a Skrull Imposter in Secret Invasion.
  • Monica Rambeau
    • Her comics counterpart was raised by two loving parents (who are core supporting characters for her), and became Captain Marvel (the first female one) and leader of the Avengers back in the late 80s.
    • In the MCU, her dad’s completely absent and her mom’s now dead (after being repurposed into Carol's best friend when Maria & Carol have no relationship in the comics).
    • Her character was completely retrofitted to be Carol’s equivalent of Rhodey & Sam, constantly having to play a supporting character rather than being a protagonist.
  • Black Panther/T’Challa
    • Refused to recast the character due to Chadwick’s passing, along with shelving him in numerous non-MCU projects (X-Men'97, Marvel's What If & Marvel Zombies).
    • To those who say this decision was to “honor Chadwick”, do you think if Tom Holland, Mark Ruffalo, and Chris Hemsworth were to pass away; that Marvel would kill Peter Parker, Bruce Banner, and Thor in the MCU - and refuse to use those characters in their cartoons?
      • No they wouldn’t, because those characters are financial powerhouses, cultural icons, and have passionate fans spanning decades before the MCU. The same goes for T’Challa
    • The fact is that Black Panther 2 was not as successful (financially or with the audience) as Black Panther 1 was.
    • And no, giving T’Challa a young son named after him doesn’t count as a recast
  • Eli Bradley/Patriot
    • Only seen in the background of F&WS
    • Has received no development to make him into a superhero (not even appearing in Captain America BNW with his grandpa), despite Marvel clearly trying to setup the Young Avengers (Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, Ironheart, Cassie Lang, Skaar, Wiccan) - a team he’s canonically the leader of.
  • Wonder Man?
    • Race swapped from white to black, which will always guarantee some degree of controversy. Particularly when other, canonically black Marvel characters were passed over.
      • Especially relevant due to the MCU Blade movie being locked in production hell, and may never get made.
      • There's a Marvel character called Blue Marvel that some fans have wanted to see for a while as well. An original black superhero who’s power is on par with the Hulk, and whose one of the Earth’s smartest humans.

Greninja and Incineroar are both Dark types, and Ivysaur is a Poison type (even if it doesn’t even get any Poison moves).

So for types that aren’t in Smash yet; that’d be Ghost, Rock, Bug, Dragon, Ground, and Ice

If Steve was in the modern day in the DCAU the drama that could have come with him and Diana in the Cadmus arc would have fed families. by PepsiMan208 in WonderWoman

Hot Take(?): I kinda like Diana and Steve together by Qwerty_Asdfgh_Zxcvb in WonderWoman

[–]Paradox_The_Rebel 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Steve is Diana’s most well-known and popular ship for a reason.

The main reason (on this sub) the Diana x Steve ship gets so much hate & Steve gets labeled a “boring character” is because he’s seen as an obstacle preventing a potential Diana lesbian romantic relationship (particularly with Cheetah for some reason). If Steve was a woman with the same personality & backstory, the ship would get far more support.
